Going from 87 to 93 tune.....

On my U7191 in my TBSS it gives me 4 options 1)Diablo Sport tune. 2)91 Octane tune. 3)Factory HP tune. 4)Original Backup. My question is do i have the 93 tune?

The Diablo tune is designed for 93 octane.

Ok that's what I thought but in the description of the tune on my DS it says something about that being for MPG's.

if you select YES, it will wipe out all your previous adjustments... if you select NO, it applies your existing adjustments to the new tune you are installing.

I have a 7198 and it only has performance and factory (which isnt a tune) All I have done so far is modify the factory setting and I dont remember if it backed up my stock tune since I never chose install tune just modify I dont think it did. I didnt install the performance tune because I couldnt find out what settings were changed and assumed I could change everything manually and at least I would know what was changed. If I decide to take a leap of faith and install the perf tune you are saying I cant save all of my modifications to the factory tune to reinstall later. It wouldnt make sense to apply them to the perf tune since I dont know if it applies more or less adjustments ie timing LTFT than I have added and I hate to delete it.

Rick, I have the U7198 also and it has a Performance 93, a Performance 87 and the Factory tune. Mine is ver 2.13. Maybe you need Upgrading? And when you Diablo "mates" with you car/truck it will backup the factory tune automatically before it does anything.

It backs up your stock tune no matter what you do, whether it is installing a performance tune, Diablo, 91, 87 or modify the stock tune.

That answers a couple of my concerns. Thanks. I bought my predator a month or so ago. When it boots its says GM series II version 2.13 bios 6.01. I dont have 93 or 87 just performance and factory???

Not all vehicles have all the tunes. Example: Corvette isn't to run on 87 octane fuel, so why have a tune for it. Diablo is for 93+ octane, 91 (sometimes call Performance) for 91+ octane, 87 for 87+ octane and factory is for modding things like tire size, gearing, speed limiter, etc. Factory has NO changes to it at all, they are up to you. All the others has some level of fueling changes and timing changes.

your performance tune is for 91 octane or higher

if it was for 93, you would have a separate 91 octane tune... which you don't... so that tune is for 91 octane or higher... just like canucks' truck has... he has the Diablo Tune and an 87 octane tune... his Diablo Tune is made for 91 octane or higher...

I dont have an 87 tune just a factory tune. I dont think I could run on 87 either. I just use the factory tune as a way to modify my stock tune.

k, then you have the performance tune - for 91 octane or higher, and the factory tune to adjust your stock OEM tune...

Thanks and the factory tune for oem modifications cant be saved as a tune when going to the performance tune?

If you change from factory tune to a performance tune it should ask you if you want to reset all the parameters, answer NO to that question. Then all your previous changes will stay and it will apply the tune of choice.
