I had a chance to try the tune that was provided by Mike for a bit last night, as well as for my drive to work this morning. So far, the tune is a huge improvement over the canned 87 tune. It no longer bangs into the next gear under WOT, and the transmission acts normal under typical driving conditions. I still need to put some more miles on it, but so far I'm much happier.

Mike,

What is it with these trucks / transmissions that makes one so much different from another? There are many more owners out there with similar issues. Why does it seem that a custom tune is required to fix these issues?

Thanks again for the help!

Honestly, with as many 14+ GM truck customers as we have, this is an incredibly small issue. Why a few cals are this different is still up in the air but we're still investigating, and will gladly provide a custom tune for anyone with the issue.

Thanks

I have a 2014 Sierra all terrain 5.3. I'm having the same issues with the 1-2 shift being hard even at light throttle. I experience the bogging issues a lot when I get on highways. Giving more throttle causes a downshift that seems to skip a gear. And at full throttle the shift is so violent I'm afraid somethings is going to break. I have tried several different tunes and adjustments all with the same results.
