No, the tool works fine and if the OP would allow it to do what it needs, he could tune his truck right now.

We have 1000s of customers who have done the same downgrade and never had an issue, we have been doing this for years and years, if this caused problems you would see and hear about it everywhere.

I updated my Trinity and hooked it up and let it downgrade the PCM. The first attempt failed but the 2nd attempt worked. It backed up the downgrade and I installed the 93 octane custome tune and it seems fine. Nice improvement over stock. I just hope the backup with install if I need to take it to the dealer for anything.
