Damn me again forgot to tell you

Post by santaman58 »

Hey I also wanted to tell you I have a 28" Stainless Magnaflow exhaust single muffler with dual rear outlets and it really sounds good now with the dumb DoD disabled. Not too loud in cab but a very nice note outside! Very pleased with it. Ran about $500 for system plus tips. I used rear exit 2 x 6 rectangle stainless camaro outlet tips right under rear bumper and it sure looks nice on these trucks. Kept the tips tight to bumper so they dont hang down.

Damn I keep remembering things to tell you. My truck did the DoD thing with the stock exhaust and the Magnaflow...didnt matter... it changed from 4 to 8 all the freaking time. Drove me nuts! My gas mileage was slightly better with the DoD off but have to use premium now...oh well...the peace of mind and a better running truck is worth it! about 15-16 mpg. DONT HESITATE get the tuner asap and youll be glad you did. I paid around $300 for mine new. It will need to be updated when you get it so you'll need the necessary cables to do that. Head to Radio Shack for them if you dont already have them. Somewhere here on the site there is a listing for the Radio Shack cables and their numbers that you'll need.

Thanks for all the info santaman58. Good to hear that my truck isnt the only Vmax out there pissing off its owner! I think im going to buy a predator online this week as well as order the necessary cables. I just want the DoD off!! As for the sluggishness especially uphill, I think it may be a result of a weak fuel/air ratio... I heard that is adjustable with the predator however I would have no idea which way I should adjust it..i.e more fuel/less fuel, more air/less air... WHERE DID YOU BUY YOURS FOR $300????

do a search for a dealer near you... http://diablosport.com/index.php?module ... lay&pid=32

other places that come to mind are marylandspeed and tbyrne motorsports...

if it's not already up to the latest revision when you get it, you can update it yourself... just make sure you also buy the power adapter and serial or serial-to-usb cable.

concoursdirect.com and also Jegs.com will pricematch the lowest price you find on the web..

I went through Jegs via telephone since I do not have to worry about WHO Jegs is...

i've got an 07 vmax with the predator, cold air and 3'' magnaflow exhaust and to tell you the truth the DoD did not help anyway i was glad for the updated program. the best performance i could get out of my truck i had to adjust the shift points. it made a big change in performance to my truck. got most of the sluggish feel out of it. can any ony help me wth the torque management? have not really tried to change it yet . if anyone has or can give me a pointer it will be helpful. im not scared to line up beside any other gas truck only lost one race it was to a denalli with the 6.2 and six speed tranny. go gm all the way!!!!!

CGray,

I do not think we have any TM settings in the current release for our trucks.

I think it is due.. Have to read the threads as it has been due for some time. But hopefully they will release it soon.

You adjusted the shift points using the predator? I thought I read that the predator cannot change the shift points.... just clarifying. Thanks
