New Predator owner needs some help
Moderator: mikel
I thought so too initially, but then I got used to it. Not too bad on my car since the fuse is right by the battery. unhook cargo net, fold back cargo floor, lift out the organizer, lift up sub floor and remove fuse
. I'm pretty good at it now. Good enough that I never followed through with the plan for an inline, hidden, toggle switch somewhere on the main power lead.

I hear what you guys are saying. I'm just a bit pissed, because I read at least a 100 posts on the predator, and there was no mention of having to disable an aftermarket alarm system. I didn't find out, to I got the product and read the manual. Anyways I'll get things sorted out and let you know how its going.
I haven't tried it yet, because I'm afraid something going wrong during the flash and I'm without a car for the work week. Beside everytime I turn the key to on the doors lock, and then unlock when I turn the key off (power draw right). That can be reprogrammed. The hidden toggle switch sounds like a great idea. I wonder if they make one that's key operated.
I know nothing about my alarm that's sad. The manual covers so many options, I don't know what I have. Is the starter kill(I don't think I have this) the only thing that prevents the predator from working, or is there just too many variables to say. I guess I won't know to I try. You think I should try, or not bother because of the door lock thing.

They might have itemized the options you got on the installation bill. You almost surely have the starter kill. That's when the alarm goes off the car won't start. I've got my doors programmed to lock when the car goes over 10 mph and they unlock when you open the drivers door (might have been the way the car came).
I don't know that anyone's sure if it's a particular alarm component that interfers. I'm not sure how they tie the components into the car's system either. I have the factory security on the car. If it was locked with the key fob it will set off the factory alarm if you open the door without the key fob. Don't know that it does anything else. I had the Clifford installed and had them do it for minimal intrusion into the car's systems. No automatic start, no automatic door locks, no automatic windows. I think the only thing from the Clifford alarm that's tied into the car's system in any way is the starter kill.
Should be huge options on keyed switches. Like here http://electricscooterparts.com/switches.html
