I chose "Diablo Tune" (which I assume is the 93 octane tune) over the 91 octane tune and I set the throttle boost to 18% (max is 20%). Vehicle top speed is now 155 mph (I think it was 115 mph from the factory.

Question: does disabling the traction control (TC) in the DCX turn off more of the electronic stability control (ESC) nannies than punching the TC button on the dash? If so, I'm going to turn it off as well. If not, I'll just keep using the button.

I did not mess with the WOT fuel settings or spark advance settings for now but it's nice to know we have some additional customization we can do to the Diablo Tune. Somebody who lives by a dragstrip is going to have to tweak this out!
Yes, disabling TC in the tuner does way more than the dash, as it disables ABS completely, which is what TC uses to control wheelspin, so, yeah, TC/ABS/ESP are totally gone when you disable it through the tool :)
That is excellent news indeed! Thanks again for taking prompt action to resolve the calibration update issue!

Mike,

If you are still monitoring, can I ask you one last question?

Suppose that somebody couldn't care less about fuel mileage. If you wanted the most lower end torque and mid range power possible (since the VVT makes this engine always good at upper RPM). Would bumping up the fuel settings in the DCX be the thing to do to go in that direction? Mine has MOPAR CAI and true dual Magnaflow exhaust so she is breathing plenty of air.

Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

we dont sacrifice power for MPG in the tunes, when you go WOT, there is no concern for mileage, thus, the tunes are set up about as aggressively as they can be without strapping it to a dyno and sorting it out in person :)

Do disconnect my tuner after I load a tune or do I leave it pluged in?

So far, with the 20% throttle increase, I like not having to mash the pedal or downshift to 4th to pass on the freeway. :D

How do you modify the settings after installed?
Like traction control, fan and throttle.

To modify the settings such as traction control, throttle boost, etc., select the green check box when asked whether you want to modify the tune (this is before the tune loads).

I took my 2011 Charger 5-spd out for a good drive this afternoon/evening after tuning. I will say I am fairly happy with the result and how the tune works in combination with CAI and my semi-custom Magnaflow exhaust.

However, in my experience it takes about two weeks after I get a new calibration (or disconnect battery or pull fuse 31) for my PCM to relearn my lead-footed driving pattern and that is when I will really evaluate the tune.

Already, I think I can notice just a bit more rip snort if you know what I mean, especially at higher RPMs and in manual shift mode. I think using the DCX unit to disable traction control and thereby disabling ESC altogether needs a try because I think ESC always restrains the throttle in addition to cycling the calipers.

Eventually, someone needs to try further customizing the Diablo Tune via the fuel and spark settings. What I mostly do is what I would call "spirited" city driving and I would benefit from a good low torque curve at half to three-quarter throttle. In other words, the reality is that only a fraction of driving time is actually spent at WOT...except Saturday night it is most of the time..ahaha!

Just wanna thank Mike L and the DS team, thanks for gettin' that ironed out for us all.
I just installed my tune now (about 830pm alberta canada time), and i didn't cycle the key like some guys above were saying not to.
After i installed the Diablo Tune, i noticed you could change the tire size in one of the customization options of the Diablo Tune, so after installing the D-tune (with 20% throttle), i went to go back and change my tire sizes. In the tune option screen it said something like "not set"....so i changed the settings to 245, 45, r20, for my tires, and hit the red back arrow, then it asked me if i now wanted to install the tune.

The ONLY time i cycled the key i had an issue, honestly i was sweating alittle haha...turned the car off, and she wouldn't start again...not in accessory mode, not in run mode, and not even when i try to actually start her up. First the display on the console (near speed-o) was saying Key Fob not detected...strange, i just replaced the batteries in both 2 weeks ago.

Then, i easily removed the push button start, i've never tried that before and perhaps underneath the cap there was a regular key ignition slot? I had no clue, so i tried it, nothing, no key hole so to speak. Put the push button start back on and then i was told "damaged key" or something to that effect.

Unplugged the InTune, got my spare key, tried it all again, and she started...just a warning for everyone else i guess? just thought i'd share with you guys.
i'm lucky she started! haha
