Hey Mikel,

If my understanding is correct I now understand that you have a fix for the 2011 & 2012 shift points?
I have attached a copy of my LastTune written for this mod.

Appreciate the help with getting it sorted.

Cheers,

Mouritz
here you go, shifts set to 6100...enjoy ;)
Thanks Mikel :D

Great,

Any idea on timeline for trying to change the shift points between 2nd and 3rd gear on a 2012 Ram with the 65RFE Transmission?

thats what this whole thread was about...yes, its fixed :)

if you have intune and want a new tune, post the LTW and I'll set the shift points wherever you like them.

Hi Mikel,

Now you've got me real excited. I have attached my LTW which is basically a HemiFever tune on top of a 6100 shift-point of your Diablo 93 tune.
All I want is that the 6 shifts of the 65RFE Transmission is evenly spread along the rev range. In other words... if I drive like an old lady... depressing the accelerator slowly from standing still to lets say 75 mph... 1st 2nd and 3rd needs to be evenly spread... I assume change from 1st to 2nd at 3200rpm, change from 2nd to 3rd at 3200 rpm (assuming that the gap between 2nd and 3rd is more than 300 rpm, which is really what I want to be adjusted).

Saying this my original question in the "2012 Dodge Ram 1500 (difference between 2nd and 3rd gear)" topic that I started where I ask whether this is possible to adjust electronically or whether the gear ratio between 2nd and 3rd was really the culprit why there is only 300 rpm difference between 2nd and 3rd specifically on the 65RFE Transmission.

To refresh your memory:
For the 2012 model year, the 545RFE was recalibrated and introduced as the 65RFE in 1500 Ram models. With the exception of an improved torque converter, it is physically the same as its predecessor. The key difference in the 65RFE is the ability to use all six forward gears in sequence when using Electronic Range Select mode. In normal drive mode, however, the 65RFE uses the shift pattern of the 545RFE; thus never using 2nd and 3rd gears in succession. 2500 and 3500 models with gas engines received the 66RFE, a hybrid of 68RFE internals (including the gearset) packaged in a 545RFE case.

65RFE
1st 3.00:1
2nd 1.67:1
3rd 1.50:1
4th 1.00:1
5th 0.75:1
6th 0.67:1
Reverse 3.00:1

No, you are off topic here :)

This thread is about WOT shifting, not part throttle shift points...thats something you ought to work with hemifever on.

Thanks

Mikel,

Sean mentioned to me that he would contact you to see if Diablo could come up with a "switch" to do this.
I still seriously doubt if this is achievable since the gear ratios indicted between 2nd and 3rd is:

2nd 1.67:1
3rd 1.50:1

which in my mind tells me that the 300 rpm difference between 2nd and 3rd is mechanical and not governed by software.
Am I right with this or do you believe that "part throttle shift points" could change the gap between 2nd and 3rd given the ratio between 2nd and 3rd?

Cheers,

Mouritz

well, yeah, you cant do anything about that gap, except to switch to taller gearing to open the gap up a bit.

Hi, I just bought my I-1000 DCX tuner for my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L HEMI, it has the express package. It is a 4x2 regular cab with the dual exhaust. I set the Rev Limiter and Throttle Response to the highest possible, I also changed the 1-2 and 2-3 Shift Point to the highest possible, which is 6200 RPMs, but it only revs to 5600 at WOT from 1-2 and the same for 3-4. I installed the 91 octane tune. Please help! I saw a post where you guys gave someone a tune and the customer was satisfied with it, he had the same problem as me. Can you send me a tune where the shift points are adjusted to 6100 RPMs? Both 1-2 and 2-3. , please. Here is my current tune:

We have actually already closed for the day. Maybe Mike will see this at home and get it fixed up for you, but if not, i'm sure he'll take care of you first thing on Monday.
