2010 Ram Hemi Tranny Jumping And Rough
Moderator: mikel
I think you'd be better off taking your truck in for warranty to fix the issue then to rely on this tuner. There is no where online where dodge does admit to having this problems with our truck. There is no recal no reflash. As far as yours with the dying at idle that was a dodge issue I had an 05 and there was a reflash for that. But as far as the shifting my truck is way worse with the tuner in. I have only gotten a similar issue one time and it may have not been the same problem it was mds related. But I would not rely on diablo to fix that issue just my opinion. You may want to start a new thread with your issues also, as this one dont get much interest to some people.
no there is no fix for this. I dont think there will be any time soon. The lastt thing I heard from mikel was they need a truck that is having the issue so they can fix the problem. They do not have enough people complaining or having the issue to go on priority right now. So we are out of luck with this isue right now. I also have another issue with my idle when i come o a stop light even with it set 150 above stock it will still drop down to the stock setting. Also my part throttle shifting is bad. Feels as if im driving a stick shift. Even the wot shifting isnt firm enough there is alot of work to be dont with this running from diablo, it just isnt on their priority list or not enough people complain im not sure.

post a last tune written of your tune with idle raised 150 rpm above stock. I will look at where the minimum idle rpms are set. if they are stock, raising them may help your idle issue.blazingzz wrote:I also have another issue with my idle when i come o a stop light even with it set 150 above stock it will still drop down to the stock setting.

just saw this thread by you with your tune in it and tweaked the minimum idle rpm:
http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... ic&t=27593
that is something the tuner doesn't adjust, need CMR to change min idle rpms.

Not only do I we all still have the jumping/rough etc tranny issue at WOT, I still have the annoying surging problem
My truck sounds so stupid when cruising along at 80-100km/hr.....RPM fluctuates as much or even more than 100rpm when cruising
These issues are not few and far between
Many of us including on DODGE forums are having the same problem
Its widespread and I do not know why it has not been addressed and fixed yet (at least for the 09+ RAM's anyway)
I started this thread in October and still no fixes

Ramathorne,
if it is a factory tune issue, there may not be much Diablo can do.
in looking at blazingzz's tune, some of the stock shift logic looks a bit off. post up your original backup and the Diablo tune you are using so I can see if the shift logic is the same. might be able to help the shifting with a CMR tune, not sure.

hook Predator to computer, use DS Downloader to import "last tune written" to computer, attach "last tune written" file to post here.

I last posted back on page six. I stated that the modded tune from MikeL corrected the problem. BUT I was wrong. The reason I thought the problem was corrected was because the pavement must have been cold or damp and the tires must have been slipping a little causing the shutter to be minimal or not present. I only drove the truck for about 10-20 minutes after I installed the tune before I stored it for the winter. Not enough time to make a proper analysis of the modded CMR tune.
Anyway, I just got the truck out of the garage for the first time after winter storage and took it out for a spin. Yup still having the shuttering issue. But MikeL did change a couple things for me in my CMR tune that greatly improved the shift quality from a standing start.
I believe this is a Dodge issue and not a Diablo issue because my truck has shuttered on downshift since new. My truck was delivered to me on Jan 15, 2010 with 176 miles on it. It had the 3.21 gear at that time and the shutter was not as prevalent until I installed the 4.10 gear but it was there with the stock tune. Once the 4.10 gear was in, the problem got worse. I am starting to wonder if (as mentioned in a previous post) if it is the tranny having issue with gear selection between 2alt and 2prime when downshifting. I have not had ANY recalls done on the truck and when I do take it in for service I always tape a note to the steering wheel that states "This truck has a custom tune DO NOT FLASH THE PCM". I may dump the stock tune back in there then have the recalls done and reinstall the CMR tune after the work is done.
For now I just know that when passing someone and the truck down shifts, I know that at the moment I feel the truck start to shutter, I let up all the way on the accelerator and mash it to the floor again as quickly as possible and the shuttering goes away. Not an ideal fix. But it works for now till Dodge fixes this problem.
With all the negative comments that have been posted about Diablo in this thread, I think maybe we should cut the guys at DS some slack on this issue because as mentioned by others and myself, the issue WAS present BEFORE we added the Predator and it is starting to seem to me like a Dodge issue.
So far I am VERY pleased with the results I have gotten with my Predator/DS support

It looks like there hasn't been any action here for almost 2 weeks. I just uploaded the 93 tune to my truck and I was experiencing this shake that everyone mentions. I saw somewhere else where it was suggested that I remove the battery cable to let the truck learn the tune and the new mods (exhaust and CAI). I had it off for almost an hour and on my drive home I got the same shake in between 40 and 50 mph. Is Diablo still taking files and customizing them?

OK, I took my truck in for warranty. It was denied and the dealer stated that the warranty was void because I used a tuner. All lies and I will be pursuing legal action against them via FTC. So I took it to another dealer and didn't say anything about the Predator. I have been having the same issues that all of the rest of you have been having see ---> http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... ic&t=30484
The shuttering was present from day one when I bought the truck new. I took it to the dealer to have it looked at and they couldn't find anything wrong. The problem eventually went from just a shutter when full throttle downshifting (between 50-60 mph) to harsh downshifting under partial throttle, getting stuck in 4th gear (would not shift up or down out of 4th unless I shut off truck, put in park and then restarted).
I will keep you posted as to what they find at this other dealer.
