hey man...

check in the dataviewer when you go to do a log, if you have the Air Fuel Ratio parameter available to log...

if you do, then log that along with the other parameters I mention, and do a WOT log...

When doing WOT logs, you would log the same parameters as you did for the steady cruise log. To get a good WOT log, you want to start from a dead stop if you can, or at least from as slow of a roll as possible. Then, just GET ON IT!! Pretend you're on a drag-strip, hammer-down and go for as long as you can, through as many gears as you can. BUT, BE SAFE!! And only do one good WOT run per log.

then post that WOT log up here and I'll take a look at it...

Hi all. I just got a predator for my truck and have been trying to learn as much as possible. I previously had a Hypertech Max energy tuner which I was ok with but wanted to do more adjustments myself so bought the Diablo. I had to update my predator and now I have the Diablo tune installed, but it doesn't allow hardly anything than installing a Diablo tune or an 87 oct tune. I was hoping to adjust much more as advertised.

By the way though...The predator seems A LOT more powerful than the hypertech thing lol. Just reving the engine made the entire truck rock all over the place and made a much deeper 'growl.' For health reasons I haven't been allowed to drive recently so I had my wife drive me in the truck for a test and it might be me but I believe it sounds like it runs smoother too.

yes, the predator is more powerful than any other handheld out there...

and to modify stuff, you need to hook up to your truck... select the same diablo tune that you installed before, and then instead of "install tune", you would select "Modify Tune", and you'll get a listing of all the parameters you can go into and make adjustments to...

the first thing you want to do is to do some data logs and get your fueling adjusted correctly via the injector slope parameter, so that you get your average ltft's in the 0 to -2 range...

so follow the instructions on page 1 of this thread for info on how to do that...

Hey thank you for your quick response. I've literally been up for hours at night reading about anything I can find about diablosport for the past few nights. I will do some logging as soon as I can.

Alright I just tried to modify parameters and it said 'Modifying parameters not available for this vehicle/transmission type (2).' I'm not sure what the "2" is, but that is what is said on the screen.

I hope that it is just a feature that will soon be updated in the next revision.

export the copy of the original backup tune file to your pc, and then create a new post in the GM forum for the diablo guyz telling them your issue, so that they can use your backup tune file to add support for your vehicle in the next revision update...

These might be really stupid questions, but if you don't actually drive under the conditions for logging listed (1800-2500rpm for 20 min or so), would you still want to log at and adjust for those conditions? Also when making a log is it better to attempt to maintain a constant speed or RPM?

rpm is more important than speed...

and if your normal steady driving/cruising is less than 1800 rpm, then just log that, and post your log and I'll go through it manually...

The first one, is from a stop with wheelspin to 110 mph speed. The second is from a roll with 7 mph to 100 mph.

hahah.. sorry man... been super busy...

you're pretty rich at WOT...

you don't have any turbo or supercharger on there, do ya??

if not, then go -6% on your PE fueling in all rpm ranges...

Oh... Hmm by the adjusting the injectorslope i increase the the injectorsize bi 14% (-14% choose for the ecu) . It's not strange? .
So now i set -6% by WOT 1000-4000k and the same by 4000-7000k. Now i drive around to relearn the ecu with the new parameters. After 50 Miles i try new WOT measurement, okay?

Thanks for your help. I mean, the diablosport predator is okay, less power for medium cash. But with your help, monte and Lewis is this tool really interesting thing. I hope i can feel and mess the power with your help.

Best regards

I just ran a log on my wife's cruising the freeway at 70 and RPM is no more than 1650. So I am posting here if you can take a look 2007 Yukon Denali XL on the 87 tune. Has CAI and ported TB.

Thanks

well, your RPM's are on the low side... but based on this log, adjust your injector slope to -6% and you should be good to go....
