Wow! HHP quoted me $170. They think very highly of themselves.

2 hours labor. They probably plan on pulling the blower hat for better access.

Looks like they dropped the price on the V.

And what'd they give you for it? Looks like all their interested people didn't want a red 2010, they wanted a black 2011.
No idea why they took it elsewhere, unless, did you still have that big chip on the door? They may have sent it out for repair.
At least they corrected the transmission.

Re: Anybody want my V?
I wanted $45K trade in, which it was worth before the value dropped in Sept., but when a dealer sells a car for a low price, they give you less on trade in. I went through the same thing with another dealer that had a 2011 BDE for cheap; good price, low trade. So it offsets. Value for your V was between clean and avg trade in; $49K and $51K. Mine was $43K and $45K. So it was pretty even in the middle for both. $44K. And the Manager was pleased it was Red when I told him. I don't think he would have given me that much if it wasn't a good color since he was pretty firm at $43K. I would have walked over $500 and he knew it too since that would put me at over $9K out of pocket and I was only looking at $8K out of pocket. They priced mine for $52K. Yours was listed for $58K. They list for $8K above and take the first $5K profit offer. But over $50K for a 2010 with 23K mi. is not competitive at all. Dropping to below $50K is and I showed you that 2011 BDE for the same price.
Yes, dent on the door. But it's hardly noticeable. Also, a license plate screw on the rear bumper from Queens traffic. They didn't even notice it either. Sounds plausible, but thought they would have sent it to the Service dept. down the road or next door is a Jag dealer as well. I called and the Jag Service dept. said they inspected it.

Called another shop, they want $170 too. Ugh! If I'm going to pay that much, I might as well have them put the snout/upper on it.

Re: Anybody want my V?
Thats gonna be another $250-300. Definitely keep an eye on the IAT2's after that. The stock pump may not be upto the task of keeping the temps down with that much boost, especially with the stock T-stat and no hat spacer (which will cause extra heat due to the turbulence and no space for the extra air to go).
Ask the shops if they'll do a price match. I can send you my invoice of the injectors being swapped much cheaper. Same car, same job.

Re: Anybody want my V?
No way can they charge extra when they are already there. The snout literally takes less than an hour to swap. And most of the work would be done on either install. So how can they charge separately? Stupid dealer tried to pull that BS with me when they installed pads and were already doing the rotors. They lost.
I still refuse to pay $500, even $400, for that stupid spacer. I should also be putting in 3 degree colder plugs too. Another $100. Ugh. I hate modding.
They're both quoting book rate. I thought since they are reputable shops that they charge a flat rate since they have experience with it. Not dealer BS rate. They aren't going any less. Both said if they don't need to pull the supercharger or if it only takes them an hour, they will charge less.
Hah! Yeah, right. I have a local place that usually gives good prices so I'll give them a shot.
PS. You didn't have a TCM tune on it. Now I'm really tempted to try it again.

Re: Anybody want my V?
They're totally different. Nothing has to be removed for the injector swap. Just the rails and injectors. They'll loosen a few hat bolts but not remove them. To do the snout the belts gotta come off, the hat needs to be removed and the blower needs to be unbolted. Much more work. Plus they need to use silicone to put the snout back on, which they'll charge for, and then afterwards they have to deal with resetting the bypass valve. Since they're pulling the belt anyway, I'd highly suggest doing the T-stat while they're in there. Its just 2 bolts, and they should be able to reuse the coolant, which was changed when they swapped the balancer.
You don't have to buy the spacer, but if you don't a pump would be a good idea. The PRP is just $189, plus $40 for the mount and you need to find a pair of -12aN male to 5/8" barb fittings. Flows 25GPM. I shouldn't have returned mine and I could have sold it to you for less.

Yeah, I know. I told them that but "book" says it needs to be done. WTFever. Tempting to have them do the snout at the same time, but I'm not ready yet.
Surprising you returned it since you horde more than me. I saw D3s for $400. Fuck that! $189 sounds much better. Which part number?

Re: Anybody want my V?
PRP-6055 is the pump, PRP-6115 is the mount. The fittings are hard to come by. Only place I've found them is through Mezeire.
I returned the pump because I knew I'd never use it. I still have the FloJet pump from the GTP sitting here.

Re: Anybody want my V?
Those fittings are ridiculously expensive. What do you think of the Mezeire pump? $4 more with the fittings.

Re: Anybody want my V?
I never looked at Mezieres pump. What does it flow? If it flows about the same and comes with everything then go for it. Meziere is a good brand. I used their electric water pumps on both my T/A and GTP, and never had a failure.
Re: Anybody want my V?
Just looked. The Meziere only flows 20GPM, doesn't come with fittings or a bracket, and retails for $241. By the time you add the bracket and fittings you're over $300 for a lower flowing pump.
See if you can find the fittings elsewhere for cheaper. -12AN O-ringed x 5/8 barb. Mezeire gets like $22 each IIRC.
