I just drove it quite a bit with the 93 tune and pulling 1 degree of timing out. I droped the 2-3 shift to 5650 because it was struggling a little to get there but it doesn't hit 3rd as good now. I am happy with the 2-3 shift at 5850. With the 93 tune I did get a little chirp out of it a couple times. It did feel like it was pulling better as well. It pulls hard to 75mph. The wind and the shift kills the pull at 80mph.
I don't think it will hit the 14's but it should be close.

Hey Mike
tried to call you with unit hooked up but I guess I didn't hit done and your numbers didn't get saved it the cell.
Good news -bad news.
bad first.
had the same c2206 and c2202, 1684 u100 codes per SC. still have the brake warning lights on. The go off every so many starts but come back on on the next start. still have that extra ding 30 sec after start, maybe no ding on the occasion when the brake warning lights don't come one.
Loading the updated programming didn't fix that.
the good;
Program DL from your site and to the predator wihtout a hitch.
Shift points work I tested with 5800, 6000, & 6100 on 93 tune with mds off, a tire size change, rev in drive at 6600, with and without a tad of 5K adding fuel (all still the psc1 atop) on the 20's
Made a few WOT runs from a a stop and it didn't downshift back to 2nd prime with any of the above shiftpoints.
Think it still does that at light throttle but with SC it does that on occasion too. Never worried too much about that,
I'll compare the 2 more later.
You guys are on the right path with the programming for the trans. congrats!
Oh and the so-so
I don' know if you changed any tuning but it doesn't feel as strong overall coming off the line.
and today it was really noticeable that with SC the gas pedal is much quicker than with the predator which feels more like the stock less responsive pedal if you know what I mean.
I'll try to do some more tests and call you tomorrow.
Thanks
Randy

Is there any torque management off the line? If so, GET RID OF IT! I was hoping that it would feel better off the line. I don't notice much if any difference there.

We wont be in the office tomorrow.
We will have a limited staff available on Friday, so feel free to call in then.
Let Phil know you need to force a calibration update, he'll get you taken care of.
Some calibrations ad differing throttle sensitivity settings, if you'd like, I'll have you email me a copy of the stock file after the calibration update and we'll set you up with a more aggressive throttle response tune..

Odd to hear that.need-a-cage wrote:Is there any torque management off the line? If so, GET RID OF IT! I was hoping that it would feel better off the line. I don't notice much if any difference there.
Every truck we have tuned here saw big gains in off the line performance.
Any chance you can upload a copy of the last tune written from your Predator and email it to me?
Thanks
Mike

I will do that as soon as I get a chance. I was just expecting it to spin more. It barely spun at all and the road wasn't even 100% dry. Maybe my tires just bite really well. I am going to mess with it some more tomorrow before Thanksgiving dinner. I have to give my cousin a ride in it. Maybe I need to add some fuel down low since I have a much better Y pipe now?mikel wrote:Odd to hear that.need-a-cage wrote:Is there any torque management off the line? If so, GET RID OF IT! Should I shoot for 12.5 at every rpm? If I put the wideband in the rear O2 bung, how much does the cat lean out the mixture?
Thanks,
Craig

Re: RE: Re: U7137 beta update for tcm issues
Just a question about loading the pcm and tcm. When you say yours loads the pcm then loads the tcm do you actually see different writing processes for the pcm and tcm? I've only see one writing process. Also, are you able to see the calibration ID's for the pcm and tcm? My only shows the pcm. Just wondering if this is why I am having problems with my trans even after returning to stock i.e. the tcm is not being wrote to. Thanks.chefred112 wrote:im up and running now..i ended up startin the truck, drove it around the block then re-tuned...both the pcm and tcm uploaded successfully...can't really test the tcm part cuz it's raining here...but I have no tranny issues with normal driving...

Yes, it is two different writing processes. First to the PCM and then to the TCM. It sounds like you are definitely having a problem writing to the TCM. Does it think you have an 03 or 04?

Wow this could be good news for me. I only see one write process so maybe thats my problem. We'll see what Mikel says. Thanks for the help!

I tried installing another the 91 tune (have always used the 93) to see if any codes come up after installing it and nothing. Still only does one write process. Didn't drive it yet....gotta go eat some turkey.
Is anyone able to read the TCM calibration ID from the predator? Mine only shows the pcm calibration ID.

The 07 and 08 will not show the separate tcm write as the file structure is different and we are able to write everything in one shot on the 07's and up.
