oh okay, i though maybe you could just try and download it to a blank tool with my original(from a few posts ago) as the backup, thats when i get the error, never even make it to the vehicle.....im curious if you guys maybe copy and paste parts from other files to save time, like if a tune is written and you want similar results maybe instead of rewriting you just copy from another, so maybe accidentally something with a differenet vin got copied onto my file? just a thought i dont know, guess we got to wait for john:(,i think it will be worth it once we get it working

hey mike let me clarify since the problem may have gotten jumbled in the multiple posts, i think you can dupicate it with any tuner hooked up, even one set up for another vehicle, cause nothing ever gets transfered, i click to send the new file from john and click one of mine as the backup, my original stock or my modifed one, and the dsdownloader gives me the error about them being different numbers, so thats the end of it, nothing gets sent anywhere

i did get around it one time by clicking to send the file and clicking the SAME file as the backup, the downloader gave me a message that the file was identical, i clicked okay and it sent it to the tuner, then i went to my truck and tried to download it and it said the vin numbers were mismatched and it would not be written, so anyway i would never make it that far by doing it the way your supposed to i guess, the downloader catches it 1st

okay it worked this time...started it and it went to about 1150ish or so, not sure if thats my cold start or warm, its been sitting for half a day probably now, so if thats the cold start its way better than 1500, if that was my warm start then its about the same, i will find out tomorrow morning for sure, thanks

just curious, can i rename the files once on my pc? as long as i dont change extension of course, but just wondering now that i have a few if i can say call one "original", and yours maybe "modified idle" or whatever....i would think i can but want to make sure before i rename them and put the in a seperate folder or something, want to make sure they will still work if i need to reinstall them with different names...thanks again

well that was much much much better, looks about 1150ish on cold, and 850-900 on hot, appreciate it a great deal, i wouldnt even mind a tad lower especially on cold, but if thats all we can get im much happier with it for sure, if the cold and hot are related there is still room to go down a little since regular hot idle is 700 or so, so it really doesnt need to go higher than that on a warm start... up to you if we can push it further without ill side effects, either way im way happier with it already, that start up was about the only thing about this truck i didint like....let me know what you think as far as going more, i know your busy with people that have actual problems

.....thanks so much for everything up to this point...thumbs up to you
