I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
Problem is I've never heard of nor seen a car do this. Nor have I had anyone ever say this so it's hard to imagine it's from the tune. Also the tune itself doesn't address any of the idling nor coastdown. You're stating that it's always been like this?

Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
It's been doing this since I installed the Diablo tune. I know I'm not imagining this lol. It's really doing this. The idle will fluctuate low enough to feel like it's going to stall out then catches and go back to normal idle. sometimes during idle, or when coasting to a stop very very slowly, but does it more frequently when the fan kicks on. Didnt have this problem when running procal and while stock, and even when I was running my airaid with mvt still attached to run with no tune.
I will try to give a few hundred more miles and see if somehow the ecm will adapt and start a new thread if the problem persist. The current tune is awesome other than the problem mentioned. Have you looked at the log? Does the timing look like it's on point? If you don't mind me asking, what is the commanded timing?
Thank you Brian.

Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
Brian, the car stalled out tonight for the first time while very slowly coming to a stop. I kind of knew that was going to happen this time with this tune when I seen the rpm dip down even lower than before a few times today shaking the car really bad. Just the same as before, it happens when the fan kicks on, just when idling, and when very slowly coasting to a stop. Look like the previous tune was a little better than this one. I will load up the previous tune until I hear from you. Thanks.

Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
I been able to monitor and pay a little more attention to this irregular idle and it seems as tho that this idle surge will happen when the cooling fan kicks on. I thought that it also happened when just sitting and idling or when slowly creeping to a stop but no, the idle drop occurs whenever the cooling fan kicks on. Weather that be while sitting and idling or coming to a stop, when it does happen it occurs when the cooling fan kicks on. I also noticed that my fuel trims go crazy when this happens too. Doesn't fluctuate much in terms of value but goes a little crazy then settles back once the idle does.
Also, since trying the last tune you posted (R3) then going back to R2, my car haven't been feeling the same as before with the tune. It feel a little sluggish. I don't know what happened.

My first impression is to tell you it's all in your head although pull your last tune written and lemme look just in case. I'll adjsut your idle for the fan.5liter Monsta wrote:Also, since trying the last tune you posted (R3) then going back to R2, my car haven't been feeling the same as before with the tune. idle adjustment. I would also check for leaks post MAF as that most likely causing this.

Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
I wanted to rule out everything that I can so yesterday I took off the airaid and double checked everything and reinstalled. So that part look to be OK. I'm going to see how this tune work out and if it doesn't get better than I plan to do a smoke test over the weekend just to be 100%. Before the diablo tune everything was fine tho. So that's a little strange.
I have another question for you Brian. I was able to get the kr to work on my torque app and when I monitored while wot I am seeing 1 to 2.25 kr activity. I'm thinking this might be OK but what do you think? Since you know this tune inside out.

Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
That's perfectly fine. I know it seems alarming, but the knock strategies are untouched in the tunes so it will actually add and subtract throughout the powerband actively. Since your pid display only shows negative you'll only see it pulling. No biggie. It has the ability to pull up to 10 degrees which is more than enough to curtail to any situation. If not that could also be the blend of the fuel. Like I said not out of the norm.5liter Monsta wrote:I have another question for you Brian. Re: I-tune 2013 Mustang 5.0
Good morning Brian,
I been talking to Shane@bama (AM) regarding my idle issues a few times since his company have a sticky post over at AFM regarding idle issues after tuning and he advised me to unplug the battery for about an hour then go through the idle relearn process, so I decided to try this before loading the lasttune you wanted me to try and surprisingly, it's fixed!:) no more idle surge. I did perform idle relearn a few times before but never worked for some reason. Unplugging the battery seem to have done the trick.
However, have you had a chance to look at the LTW file I posted as you requested? I'm just not so sure if it's really just me feeling like something is not the same. I go through the same process every morning getting on the throttle on the same street around the same time and something just don't feel the same. Mainly part throttle feel like it lost some sensitivity and it also feel like I lost some torque. Just doesnt feel the same as before. I have to get her on the dyno asap.
Thanks Brian

Get me a log going through the gears hard. I can see by the timing curve, throttle etc...
