I decided not to go with the vararam myself, because of concern over tuning. I don't think you'll be very effective using the predator, there simply isn't enough adjustment of the PE tables. Maybe they can give you a custom tune, but I don't really see how it can be done without producing some lean conditions at speed. [/quote]
I think you are right! That is why I continue to just think about it.
Would like to hear from someone who has gone that route and used the DiabloSport tuner with success or NOT.

what are you looking to adjust for the PE/WOT fueling??
the predator allows you to adjust the amount of fuel delivered at WOT/PE, and it also allows you adjust the spark advance/timing at WOT/PE in 3 different rpm ranges...

There are other options that allow it to be adjusted in 100 rpm increments, that's why I say its limited. It's ok for now, but unles they come out with a CMR single license option, I'll outgrow it as soon as I get into the motor or add a supercharger.06MonteSS wrote:what are you looking to adjust for the PE/WOT fueling??

let me know if/when you get to that point... maybe I'll have it figured out by then and will give you a custom tune...

Found this from an earlier post about the Vararam and the C6.
I'd have to agree with everyone here, the Vararam generally will not exhibit any of these issues. In fact, the car should run and drive like stock until you get on it. I have ridden in several Vararam equipped C5 and C6s and all ran and drove perfectly, while making tremendous power up top.
Thanks

Good luck then. The motor is only going to take as much air as it needs. The vararam is not forced induction, but it can contribute to a lean condition when the backpressure rises at speed. I suppose you could set things up to be more rich to make up for it, but why fix a problem with another? it's only a problem though because there isn't enough adjustment with the predator to correct for it. Therefore, your going to be rich at times when there isn't the backpressure that could create the lean condition.Jruss wrote:Found this from an earlier post about the Vararam and the C6.

I can understand that. I'm running with the free air mod, basically the lower radiator shroud is open to allow air to come in. I want to put on the lpe hood as well, to keep iat temps down.Jruss wrote:Didn’t say I was going to do it, just researching and picking brains at this time.
Living in Florida it would be nice to get the coolest air possible to the engine since cool air here is in very short supply.

Guys, i have seen way too many Vararam equipped cars run way too good at the track to even consider using anything else.
My buddies bone stock untuned 02 Z06 ran 118mph with a cat back and a vararam! I saw one add 3.5mph to a bolt on C5 as well, and over 3 mph on a stock C6. Tuning for the Vararam is no biggie, you just want to add a bit of fuel up top to take advantage of the improved, unrestricted airflow.
Thanks

Great, so you run rich at high rpms until 80mph which is where the backpressure of the vararam comes into play.mikel wrote:Guys, i have seen way too many Vararam equipped cars run way too good at the track to even consider using anything else.

My firend ran his 07 C6 @ 12.1 @ 117 for three runs with his vararam, he took it off and put on my halltech and loaded the stock diablo tune, next run he ran 11.8 @123. Coincidence? Well, he now runs a halltech....
I just don't understand why people belive this stuff about the vararam, if it was so great the manufacturers would already be doing it.
The numbers that really went down were his 60 and 330ft times, proving that something just wasn't right at low vehicle speeds.
