So, quick update. I still haven't been able to get the turbo heat shield removed. There's one seized bolt that now has a partially stripped head. I went to an exhaust shop and they said to try vice grips, but that's just made the head of the bolt worse. I may have to drop it off somewhere and get a rental car for a day just to get this heat shield off so I can adjust the factory wastegate. Before I pull the trigger on something that seems so silly, is there anything else I can try to correct for the throttle pull? I mean, this is a stock wastegate that was adjusted back in 2008 when this car was new... One reason that this heat shield is not so easy to get off.
