I'm really confused now.

1) It sounds like some of you guys are turning off the rear O2 sensors even though you're running stock or cat backs only. Why? I was under the impression that the option to turn off the rear sensors was there for the people running HF cats, etc, and would be throwing codes tune or no tune. The rear O2s are compared to the front O2s to see if your cats are operating correctly. If they don't compare right it throws a code. It only throws a code, the pcm does not act on this code. The downside is that there may be other codes "behind" it that you care about. CEL light is on and you think everything is fine because you expect it to be on and there may be something else going on as well.

2) Narrowband sensors are more robust than wideband sensors but they are still heated to prevent fouling. Implication is that they will foul prematurely if not heated. I didn't pay attention since I have no need to fool with them but vaguely remember that the Predator allows you to turn off the rear sensors and/or the rear sensor heaters independently? If that's correct, and you have rear sensors installed, don't turn off the heaters. If you've removed the rear sensor(s) then you would want to turn off the heaters, right? If people have rear sensors in place and are running the tunes with the rear sensor heaters turned off then could this explain the codes turning up after reverting to stock? While you're running the tune with the rear sensors and heaters disabled the codes are disabled by the tune. When you revert to stock the sensors are fouled and you throw a code? Heating them again could clear them after some time so maybe the code goes away after being cleared?

just a thought...
