dod/afm disable not working

I know it is probably going to irritate some here but I'm new and not sure what this disables. Can someone explain? I'm terrible with acronyms and abbreviations.

Displacement on demand.... active fuel management... it's the 4 cylinder mode on v8's...

I'm having a problem with the dod/afm not disabling. I can hear it and feel it. Also, my dashboard shows v8 mode when my engine is most definitely in v4.

It is set to OFF uin the tune, are you 100% sure?
Do you have the V4 indicator on the dash?

Yes. 100% it says it on the dash and I can hear it.

So even with setting AFM to disabled your dash still shows it going into V4 and you hear the change in exhaust note?
