Hey Lew, you mentioned you want the minimum number of parameters logged, which makes sense, but what do you suggest for us GTO owners who have more sensors to monitor? Two logs, or just add the 2nd bank to the ones you suggested for your car?
I also didn't quite understand when you said 'choose the first of every parameter'; I thought you wanted EVERYTHING you chose monitored. Or is it something that will be obvious once logging? Wish I could just call you, but will eventually get it, I hope. Thanks man.

Hey Jc...

yeah, my directions are specific to the Monte, since we don't have 2 banks. For yours, you'll want to monitor the bank 2 stuff as well...

choosing the first one in those specific groups of parameters I mentioned is again, for us Monte/Impala owners with only 1 bank... the first parameter in the groups is for bank 1 - we don't need to select the other ones for bank 2, but you should...

Hi,

I just received my U7193. I have not hooked it up yet but am looking to get up to speed using it. I just came across this post.

Simple question, I have a 2004 Z06 Corvette with an LS6. I don't see the LS6 engine listed in the title of this thread, is it still applicable to my car?

Thanks.

yes, the way to adjust the slope and PE ranges still applies.

Thank you for your reply. I can't get DataViewer to grab my live data yet, but hopefully I can get a reply from another thread. Nicely done write-up Blue Monte, BTW. ;-)

You have any 1/4 mile times?

It doesn't appear that your specific model Predator can save/download logs. That Predator PC Interface is for uploading/downloading tunes to and from your Predator, not logging.

It looks like you'll need to have someone ride-along with you and write down numbers....

Of course, I'm just going by the info that's available on your specific product's page and download page. Since the user guide for the PC Interface for your Predator says it's for downloading/uploading tunes to/from your Predator, and since I don't see the Data Viewer app available as a download for your model Predator, that is my assumption... but you know what they say about assuming!!

Wait for Mike or Johan to chime in to this thread, they will confirm or deny this for you. Don't do anything hasty!! ;)

I have an A4, and for mine - I was told to do the WOT runs in 3, and do the normal cruise for ltft's in D.

Took the advice of this post to make some adjustments. I am assuming that it's correct to do this to the Diablo performance tune.

LTFT bank 1 & 2 were +9.3 avg and +7.4 avg @ 55MPH. So looks like I was running quite lean - no wonder i was pinging part-throttle.

So I dialed in -5% (didn't want to go too crazy, I'll see how things react).

Question - when you say drive for 50 miles, would disconnectibng the battery overnight accomplish the same ....clear out history?

How am I doing so far?

Hey JR... yeah, doesn't really have to be 50 miles... about 20-30 will do, but I like to be sure...

disconnecting the battery will reset those parameters in the ecm, but since the ltft's are the fueling adjustments the ecm makes over a period of time, you will still have to drive for a bit for the ltft's to be re-learned and settle in...

ok so I drove 20 miles so far. It feels much more peppy. But to my disappointment, I seem to be pinging MORE than before. This seems opposite.

Am I correct in saying +9.20 indicates I'm too lean? If yes, then correcting that should alleviate pings - not add more. Very strange.

yes, positive ltft's mean that you're lean and the ecm is adding fuel...

if you're lowest average ltft was +7.4... I would crank that injector slope to -7%...

sounds good...but I cant figure why going rich leads to more part-throttle pings. Isn't that opposite of what it should be?

it depends... being TOO rich can cause ping/knock as well...

let's do this... reset the learned fuel trims, then drive for about 30 miles to let them relearn, then let's see where the numbers are at.

to reset the stuff, disconnect your negative battery cable for about 20 minutes (make sure the key is NOT in the ignition). while the cable is off, you can step on the brake pedal a couple times to drain any residual power left in the system. after 20 minutes or so, reconnect the cable and you're good to go.
