No, Lew, just the opposite as far as I'm concerned. Six or so months ago I accused you of being a pet apologist for DS when I got, over the top, upset over my still held perception of their lack of "honesty in advertising" regarding TCM support for the U7194. I haven't changed my mind one bit regarding DS and in fact, my dislike has deepened. Despite the apparent good faith efforts of their front line support guys to hold it together this is not/no longer a trustworthy company. Wrt you personally and fwiw, I offer apologies for my harsh words. It's obvious at this point that you're just a really good, enthusiast guy who's trying to help.

Exactly right. There are quite a few folks that like to try to help on the forum, Lew especially. We are just folks that are intrigued with jacking with our engines and helping folks get the most out of their tuners --- if we learn something along the way, all the better.

It is a shame that DS ownership has backed themselves into a corner with their fantasy release dates. Probably forgot to ask the front line guys who do the work what it really takes... not that they would have heard it anyway.

It's easy to be upset with DS --- It is important to remember to have respect for the guys without which the comapny would fail overnight. That certainly doesn;t include the ownership, in this case.

I always make it a point to seperate the owners and the guys making the company function. In MANY cases, these two groups aren't related, as we have here.

I am not dying to fiddle with the TCM on my truck, but if people want the feature, and, it was promised, then it should be done. I am sure that all of the guys in the "trenches" there, would have it out there all ready if they had their way, and could have what they need to do the job, whatever it is.

Maybe we should send instructions to the owners on how to log onto this forum.. Couldn't hurt.

thank you Don (aka ltxi)... I appreciate it!!

;)

and ESPECIALLY - thanks Grumpy, too... for not only backing me on my support efforts, but for his own as well... for he is the brains and technological being behind the DSLogRedux app programming... yes, I worked with him on what needed to be done, filtered, the data, etc etc... but he is the one that actually brought that application to life!!
For without Grumpy, there would be no DSLogRedux... nor his fueling/engine expertise...

and as he said, we're all just end users here, tryin to get the most out of a product we've purchased...

we gotta stick together...

I'm starting to think TCM support is like the unicorn, we've all heard about it, but have never seen it and will NEVER see it.

We'll be turnied into popsicles.

Y'know, I've been relatively quiet on the subject, and it's because I feel the same way ltxi and Grumpy stated earlier.
(BTW, ltxi, I'm glad you kept up w/the forum, even though you went to another tuner. You got a first-hand look at the REAL DS - the front line guys and those of us willing to share our knowledge)
I'm of the opinion that TCM support isn't a huge sticking point for me, but as stated earlier, it is wanted by others, and more importantly, it was promised by ownership. They're throwing Mike and the rest of the guys under the bus by not delivering because they're the ones that have to explain the unexplainable, or in most cases, let it go unanswered, which makes them look even worse.
On that note, I'd like to say that the Predator has been the single-most helpful mod I've made to my Avalanche, and regardless of how disgusted I may be at ownership for their lack of customer satisfaction, I will recommend it to anyone who asks!

TO THE OWNERS:

It's getting really boring listening to one side of the story. I can only conclude, at this point, that you (folks) (the Ownership) are either:

1) Cowards

2) Incompetent

3) Liars

4) Disinterested

5) Apathetic

6) Milking the Cow until she runs dry with as LITTLE investment or innovation as possible.

Which is it?

Heck, can I set up a pole on this forum?????? If soneone can do that, make sure that "All of the above" is added. Why do I think that that would be the most popular answer?

Have some Kiwis and face the music --- take the heat off of your (most competent) employees that KNOW the business you own. While you're at it, why don't you ask them (and allow them) to tell you what needs to be done AND LISTEN. The two go hand-in-hand, in case you missed that.

Maybe tomorrow, AFTER your golf game.... or take them to lunch and pretend like you appreciate them taking the heat for your incompetence and inability to lead and manage your business effectively.

You've proven that YOU don't have clue. At least TRY to listen to the folks that do.

According to my calculations the earliest I was told (via phone calls with Diablo) that TCM support would be out was fall of 06. Just for giggles let's call that Dec 31st of 06. That means that we are truely 592 days of lies so far....

I got a new toaster, it toasts one side perfectly but the other side stays plain. So I called the manufacture and they said there working on an update, 18 months have passed and the toast is terrible What should I do? Any one else with one of these toasters?
