you can still use dslogredux to get your part-throttle fueling ltft's dialed in...

Hey Guys, I've been reading the thread for a while and figured that I'd just come out and ask since nobody else has.. I use a Trinity for tuning and I'm running a 2011 C6 dialed down to a -0.76. ltft The dslogredux tool said that there were no adjustments to make and that I was ready for WOT. So I used the 1/2 of ltft formula to set my PE and ran a test run, my ltft's were +4.00 this time.
Is it normal to see a jump in ltft when you adjust PE ? I mean, I realize that since the throttle is wide open that the ltft would increase but, the tool seems to indicate that this is a problem.
Is it a problem ?

do not worry about ltft's when doing WOT runs... pay no attention to 'em....
it's not a problem...
plus, when adjusting your the slope for your average ltft's, you have to take into account your intake air temp, which dslogredux does not....
so if your intake air temp was only in the 60's or 70's lets say, then you do not want your ltft's to be at 0 to -2... you want them to be more positive....
so that when the normal warm/hot summer weather is back in your area, THAT'S when you want your average ltft's to be around -2.xxx... any other time, cooler weather, they should be more positive...

Monte can you help me out please ?
I have done the following mods to my 2005 Corvette C6:
Ported intake
Ported Throttle body
Full Z06 exhaust including bi-mode mufflers and manifolds
Crane Cams 1.8 rockers
Now I'm trying to get the LTFT dialed in, I made 8 runs, and every time the LTFT's are different. I'm starting to loose it, one time it says -3%, so I modify the tune and install it. The next run it says +3%, and this goes on. I had the car on the dyno last Saturday, and according to the dyno operator the mixture in the higher rev range was to rich. The normal driving range was good.
He also commented that in 5th gear the car ran into a limiter, and it wasn't the rev limiter. Can it be that there is a speed limiter ??
If there is, how can I remove it with my Predator ? (7191 gm_E40 Version 9r02)
I decided to give it another run today, and low and behold, the LTFT advice (DSLOGREDUX) has changed again.
Can you please help me what to do, should I change the WOT parameters, and how much.
Where do I change the parameters in the menu, I have never done that.
Temperature while logging was 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
I included a few screenshots, maybe you can clarify what to do now.
Regards
Fred

when you do data logs, you have to make sure you do them in similar weather conditions and temps... if you do one log at 55 degrees outside temp, and then another log at 30 degrees, then yes, obviously the fuel trims will be different due to the different temps...
always want to make sure it's about the same outside temps.. and do your logging during the warmest part of the day...
also, after flashing tune changes to the ecm, you need to put on about 100 miles on the car before doing another log... the fuel trims and other items get reset every time you flash the ecm, therefore, it needs the time/miles in order for the fuel trims and other items to get relearned by the ecm and settle in...
otherwise, you're just going to be chasing your tale man...
ALSO, at 55* outside, your average fuel trims should be about +1.xxx.. you don't want them at 0 to -2.. because then when it warms up to normal summer-time temps, you'll be too rich....
during normal hot/warm summer weather for your area is when you want to be in the 0 to -2 range... any other time with cooler temps, your average ltft's will be a little more positive, which is fine and what you want...
also, I wouldn't adjust the injector slope any more than -5% or +5%... if you need more of an adjustment then that, then you want to get a custom tune done for the car, so that the MAF sensor table can be adjusted instead of the injectors...
with the mods you have, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a custom tune done for your predator/car anyway... then you can stop pulling your hair out haha...
oh, and yes there is a speed limiter.. you can not change it via the predator itself.. it is already raised in the diablo tunes.. but if you need it raised higher, then you have to get a custom tune done for your predator/car in order to have that done...

Thank you Monte for your explanation, I understand that a custom tune would be an option, but I would like to try it myself first before I hand it over to you, if you don't mind. If I can't get it dialed in to my liking I will consider calling in your help.
About the power diagram, the sudden drop in HP near 6000 rpm, does that look normal to you ?
I will do a log run in a week time, by that time I will have driven roughly a 100 miles or more.
Once the LTFT's have settled down and they are in the +1.xxx range in cold weather, how do I adjust the WOT values. Is there like the injector slope an option in the menu of the Predator ?

yeah man, np....
for WOT, it's called PE Fueling, or Power Enrichment... and there are 3 rpm ranges... to add fuel to make it richer, you go positive, and to remove fuel to make it leaner you go negative... it works the opposite of how the injector slope works for part-throttle fueling...

I adjusted the 2 RPM ranges, I thought there were supposed to be 3 ranges, but I could only find 2.
One is from 2000 to 3800 rpm, the other one is from 3900 to 7000 rpm.
You can feel the effect right away, I just love my Predator.
I'm going to save up for a pair of OBX headers, once I installed them I think I will need you assistance to get the most effect of the installation.
hmmmm, sounds like you have an older revision on your predator... cuz it was updated/changed a whle back to have 3 ranges...
no biggie, you got it goin.. cool deal...
thx man!
