I gave it a shot right after I left out of dealership in Vero Beach FL. They replaced my Grounds on chassis and battery. Way to small. Surprized I had not noticed. After I left there I pulled into parking lot and tried to load your beta tune provided here. Give me back my R18. This thing ( U7135-9t21b ) would not load tune. It would store my tune, no problem. It would get right to upload of new tune and hang on the hour glass. No movement of sand in hour glass. I waited 15 min one time like that. I finaly rebooted several times no good. I rebooted and reinstalled stock tune, drove home. Not Good. Something is a miss with this tune file. At dealer they did flash PCM, I asked what they did. 1 was something to do with keyless key bob I have and the other was some miner upgrade to seat pressure sensors for air bag deployment. I stood at bay and watched them do intire job. Chatted with mechanic after to see exsactly why they flashed system. I dont think that is the issue. Got warning ticket on the way home by a unmarked Blue 2010 Mustang County Cop too. I pulled into traffic to merge and let er rip right next to this guy. My Bad. Guess he is upset they only got him the GT. Could not tell till lights came on way behind me. Whats up with this beta tune fellows.

No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
I installed 9t21c in the tool and loaded the 91 cai tune in my 2010 Challenger automatic. I had no problems with downloading the crom to the tool or loading it in the car. I am happy with the results. However I did not find the ability to change shift points. Part throttle shift point adjustments to individual gears would be great. Also I tried a couple times to lower the idle speed and the adjustments did not "take". I did modify shift firmness. and it did get a little firmer, but it is not "chirping" the tires like I seem to read about so often. Also, is there a way to raise the torque converter lock up point? At part throttle, the converter locks up at low speed after it shifts to third gear. Delaying lock up to about 45 mph or so would be great. Thanks for the help.

RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
Guys I need some advice, I have an 09 RT Challenger 6 speed ( purchase Jan 09 ) and had the Predator tune loaded (Oct 09 ) and took it to the Dealer for some updates last week ( NOT knowing the stock tune should have been reloaded first) now my car is back to the "skip shift" so I knew it had lost the Predator tune. Now what do I do? My computer knowlege is minimal, thanks for any advice.
RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
Well... here is the situation (assuming the dealer flashed your PCM)
1) You now have a stock tune/flash in the car.
2) The Predator still thinks it's associated with your car and that you have the Predator tune in it.
3) Your Original Backup on the Predator (and your PC if you uploaded it) does not match the new flash the dealer applied.
So... If you hook up the predator to the car it's going to complain and refuse to do anything with tunes (it will still work fine for logging). It's going to say something like the backups don't match or it detects something else in the car or something like that. Try it and see what it says. It won't hurt anything.
What to do?
You need to get the Predator reset. You will have to call DS support for that. They are probably going to want you to fax them the work order from the dealer showing that they updated your car. So you fax them the work order/receipt, then you call them on the phone with your Predator powered up and they will walk you through some sooper secret procedure with sooper secret codes that will reset your Predator. Then things will be just like when you got your Predator out of the box... maybe.
After Predator reset:
There is some possiblilty that the Predator (current CROM) doesn't support (yet) the version (calid) that the dealer flashed your car with. In that case it may ask you to do a calid update/downdate before it gets the original backup and hooks up with the car. The calid of whatever they flashed should be noted on the work order so DS should be able to tell you if there is an issue or not when you call to get the Predator reset.
For future visits to the dealer:
Talk to your Service Advisor. Tell them that you do not want any modules flashed or updated on the car without your prior authorization. You can say that you want to know exactly what's changed before you decide if you want the update or whatever. That way you can decide first, check that the Predator supports the calid, etc.

RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
I've had a rather busy few days. However when I got home around dusk tonight I did manage to get a few test runs in.
Since there was no time to go to my usual "test track" I skipped down to a road thats about a mile south of my house. It's fairly flat, fairly deserted, fairly good asphalt. The only issue is it's within ear shot of the local police dept. So I didn't exactly hang around and take the kind of time I would have liked.
First I logged with my stock tune. For want ever reason the thing locked up on the way out. I reset it once there and made two spirited runs on the second file. Then I headed home to the garage. There I unmarred the tuner and updated it with 9t21c. I used the 93 + CIA Then I logged the trip back, the two runs and the trip home. At a few points: I also did some load logging by leaving it in 3'd while trying to accelerate from about 20 mph while driving home. I figured this may give me some kind of a reference for knock.
I have only glanced at the logs at this point but the new tune does seem to knock less and return quicker. I also see I missed getting my A/F. (dang)
Butt Dyno results: I think there is an noticeable 'gain' in tq & hp. (It cold be a reduction in TQ management I guess, but the car feels lighter so I'm leaning toward the gain.)
In fact, I am gong to need to re-learn my launch technique!!!
I could spin quite easily well into third. Granted I was not at my usual haunt but based on this one test I'd say it's a significant improvement over previous stock tunes for the 6 speed. My good duplicatable times previously on the EVIC were 5.06 - 5.02. All I cold do tonight was spin into 3.xx's Not a real time, but a real fun time... this was with the ESP button pressed. (mr squiggles on)
Based on my short experience, You will need pay attention to the clutch, it's a fine line between spin and hop. I cold hop 1,2 and 3. Seems to me that's a good way to break something. I'd rather feather the clutch just a bit and roll the throttle into it that way it's just a smooth, smokey spin. I've left this tune on and will continue to evaluate it as I have time over the next few days.
Huge improvement IMHO. THANKS guys!!!!

johan,
I was just wondering, were there any changes in the tunes to the Rev limiter or fan settings or did those remain at factory set points.
Thanks,
Tim

There where changes made to how you adjust the rev limiters as it was not working properly on all calibrations, no changes to fan temps where made compared to old rev.

Everything just seemed smoother & more powerful overall. Did you change the torque management/throttle lag when the MDS kicks out? It does not 'jump' like it use to. More like stock. If so, I would keep that in.

I could tell you exactly what i did but then i would have to kill you
Nah, I did re-write the tunes completely based on a bunch of 09-10's i had in here which came back with very good feedback so i passed it on to the canned tunes.

RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
I had the 21c 93+CAI in today for 2, two hour drives and about 3 hours of in town driving. This is a trip I've made probably 8 times now so I'm somewhat aquatinted with how the car handles it with the previous tunes.
Overall I would say this is a noticeably better tune on my 6 speed.
1) The car pulls better when you roll into the peddle.
I did notice that in 3'd if I'd try to accelerate hard between about 3500 4K I could hear what sounded like knock to my ears. First I've ever heard that in this car. Tomorrow I'm going to make the same drive using the 91+CAI tune and see if that makes any difference. Also quick peddle movements while better still seemed somewhat lagging compared to my non drive by wire cars. That may be unavoidable.
2) RPM drops nice and quickly when you take your foot off the gas.
This was an issue that would pop up on the other tunes sometimes. If I gunned it, or even if I went to match RPM to down shift it would 'hang' or float there at the higher rpm for a second and seemed to come back to slow. Kind of like it drifted down. Not terrible, but still there. That issue seems to be gone now.
3) the car 'feels lighter and more responsive to the peddle over the previous canned tunes.
4) rev limiter is raised, but I don't know to what yet. Anyone know what it is set to now???
5) torque management is reduced.
Yep now it's even easer to 'spin' your way around town!. Lots of fun. I have not had time to re-work my launch yet so have not been able to compare valid runs, but with a good launch acceleration feels a fair amount more aggressive.
6) Fuel mileage did seem to drop.
It's tough to tell in one trip but I would guess I lost about 1 - 1.5 mpg. Well worth the loss for the other benefits IMO
7) It looks like temps could be lowered a bit?
It may have just been today's temp or something, but I ran a touch cooler.
NOTE: I realize that these are only my perceptions but it's the best I can do at the moment. As I say tomorrow I will make the same trip using the 91+CAI version. Overall this is looking to be a very good 'caned' tune at this point.
Thanks again for all the work guys.[/code]

Thank you for bringing more muscle to the car!!!.I hope that the beta tune is the conservative version of things to come once production of the canned tunes start. I sincerely appreciate the hard work and effort you have put in to 09-10 5.7L.johan wrote:I could tell you exactly what i did but then i would have to kill you

RE: Re: RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
if i change to the new version, will i lose the ability to turn off my rear o2 sensors? i have dynatech longtubes and don't want to get the check engine light.
RE: Re: RE: No adjustment for shift points or idle rpm
That would be the case. You'd need a custom tune to keep the o2's off. DS made the decision a few versions back to remove the option from the menu map going forward. This was in an effort to stay ahead of posable issues with various federal and state agencies..
