thanks Mike. Is this update supposed to turn the trinity off after 30 secounds of ignition off? I installed the new file, the the parameter to 30 secs, reloaded my custom tune to the car but the the tool didn't turn off after 30 secs. Any thoughts Thanks

Testing out the software update tonight... I still like the fact, though, I can cut the power manually...
I ripped out out the Razor's Edge gauge pod, put the stock one back in (looks SOOOO much better). Fabbed up a custom mount out of a cheap, low-profile GPS windshield mount that puts the Trinity EXACTLY where I want it, with NO wobble...
Guess the Russians were right... "Better is the enemy of good enough!"

Finished the software testing, and no go...
I downloaded the CROM that MikeL posted, re-loaded the stock tune in the car, updated the DS Downloader and the Trinity (trinity_u7135-1r07b_update.crom and MikeL's trinity_u7135_1t07ca_update_567.crom) re-installed the Trinity and re-selected the Challenger from the vehicle selection, backed up the stock tune and installed the 91 octane performance CAI tune. I went to the change option sleep like MikeL said, left it at 5 sec, and took the car out for a spin.
Good news, I could feel the difference in the car from the performance tune... bad news, when I shut the car off, get out, lock it and set the alarm, even after waiting for the lights and everything to power down, I can still see an amber flashing LED on the front of the Trinity. I watched for several minutes, and it never went out. Needless to say, I still use my manual "kill switch" to shut the Trinity down...
Has anyone else had success with the "change option sleep" param?

Hi,
The amber LED will stay flashing, that is ok. The increase to 30 sec that you probably did by MikeL steps will do the trick. Here we monitored the battery draw, something that might be harder for you to do. I'll give you hint. On the vehicle we had here to resolve the battery depletion, we also noticed that if you leave the trunk open, turn the key off and leave the car. The dashboard will display a message saying "Trunk open" or something to that regard. Having no trinity in the vehicle will make that light to go off in about a minute. With the Trinity connected and the option "change monitoring sleep" to 30sec it will also go off in about the same amount of time. It's important to clarify that is not the Trinity being connected with the amber LED flashing what was draining your battery. The reason for the drain was that, if you are in monitoring and shut the vehicle off, we interrogate every 5 sec to see if you have the ignition key ON that short time in this vehicles causes some modules not to be turned off, which depletes the battery. Once you increase that interrogation period to 30sec or above, the modules that before were left on will turn off and the battery drain will be minimal, as normally is.
So use as reference not the amber LED in the Trinity but the message in the dash board. It should go away roughly at the same time with and without Trinity connected.

Like Alex said, let it sleep overnight, nothign will change to you except that the battery will not die

Mike/Alex,
Thanks, I'll change the time from 5 sec to 30 sec...
Just so I understand, though, the new "change monitoring sleep" param changes the time between interrogations, allowing monitoring modules to turn off? Should I take the Trinity out of monitoring mode before I shut the car off?
Thanks for the help... I know from experience that software changes are a pain in the *ss...

No, the whole idea is to leave it in monitoring mode, let it go to sleep, and wake up when you start the car.

Getting the update and going to give it a try, but I don't want to risk leaving it plugged in till others find it works. I cant risk having a dead battery when I got to go to work in my car to find it won't start. Thank you for the fix...lets hope it works.
1 question however, what if you leave it in for a few days or more and not drive the car will it kill the battery?

I pulled the file from here but I cannot get it installed on my Trinity. I try to use the DS downloader to install the file but it wont recognize the file when i go to look for it to install it. The new update automatically works i have that now. Basically I dont know how to get the crom file into the unit manually.
Scratch this, I got the file to load in. Thank you for the help.
