Hey guys, I know it's been a while! I am now just getting to the point where I have this engine setup in my older truck and trying to get it running! I have a strange issue that I thought I would run by you guys.

When I crank the engine over for testing, no fuel in the tank, It keeps cranking until I turn the ignition off. So even when the key is in run mode after turning to start and then returning, it stays cranking until I turn the ignition all the way off!

Let me know if that makes sense, and also if it could possibly be related to the tune. I am questioning because I have done extensive trouble shooting and can't seem to find any logical reason for it to do this. I am not sure if it was acting like this before, because i only ran the engine for a short period of time, and the starter may have stayed running without me noticing it. Thanks in advance for all your help!

sounds like something wired up wrong...

Just FYI I got it to run again, I thought there was a problem, but this PCM has autostart, so it will run for 6-7 seconds, then stop cranking, or until it starts. Thanks for all your help. I just wanted to let you know in case you needed it later.

Mike, I’m back with some more problems.

I am trying to get this thing running again after it was sitting for a while. I am having the same symptoms I was having before your custom tune worked, no crank no fire. I figured I would just reload the file, but When I hook up my Predator, I cant seem to get it to talk to the PCM. Here is the error I’m getting.




I have double checked all my wiring, I also thought maybe the PCM went bad, so I bought a replacement, but I still have the same issues. Is there anything that I’m missing, should the Predator still work just fine? Do i need to update it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

if the tune was previously loaded and the truck was running on that tune, and the pcm hadn't changed, then it should still run.
if not, something else has likely changed. The pcm should not die just sitting
