look I am all for you and anybody getting the product you paid for, but from what I have read your car is a rare bird so to speak, not all 08 have your problem. With that being said antagonistic posts will not help you. I complained over on the superchip site for months and in the end I just gave up and sold it, nothing was resolved by them for any of the 07 or 08 cars and frankly they do not care. Diablo does care and if there is a resolution to your problem it will be found. Chrysler did not give you a lifetime powertrain warranty without placing alot of safegaurds in the hardware and software . No the predator is not perfect, but it beats what else is out there. Hell you cannot even get a mopar performance pcm or tcm for the 07 and 08 so obviously chrysler doesn't want us changing things, they do not really want to be paying claims on the powertrain warranty. Just give it some time, if it doesn't work out sell it and move on.

Please let's not forget that I started this thread for the 2006 5.7s that share the same problem I have. A few others (other than 2006 5.7s) have also experienced similar problems, but I don't want this thread to get jacked to much. I'm actually working with Diablosport toward a hopeful solution. Thank you.

I think that it takes some time to consider a correct fix when evaluating a set of symtoms from an individual or two. As a trouble shooter I am familiar with listening to an individuals input and then thinking out what they are really trying to relay. Then comes the most likely considered response as correct as possible. (takes time)

I tried returning to stock tune and then back to performance tune and all seems good to go. No longer surging at the shift. It does though shift at 6K now as opposed to 6500 the first time I put it in. I did not change anything same tune.

Alright, you're not going to like what I have to say, because it is puzzling to me as well. I can only run 91 octane in CA and you first sent me a 93CAI r20 with r18 shift feel. That was pretty darn good and seemed to be everything I was looking for in the shifting department. However, when you sent me the 91CAI tune the shifting took a crap again (compared to the other one). Aside from "feel," the 93CAI version you had sent actually downshifts. Here's what happens:

In the 93CAI version you had sent, when cruising in D at around 50MPH, you "manually" downshift using the autostick and the car actually downshifts to 2nd gear. In the 91CAI version, do the same thing and the car "downshifts" into 4th gear (at 50MPH!), actually not downshifting at all. This is typical of the canned 91CAI tune in r20 and that's why so many are having trouble with it.

If you can somehow get the car to behave, as it does in the 93CAI version you sent me, in the 91CAI version you sent, I think we'd be closer to what we are looking for. I attached and renamed both for your reference and comparison. Thanks.
Just wanted to update the others:

I was told by Johan to try a re-install of the 91CAI tune to see if that helped. I haven't yet had the time, but will do it this weekend. I want this fixed.

I don't think anything has been jacked, other than us to some degree.

I have an '07 Charger SRT8 and since using the 93 CAI tune my car has not shifted properly in "D". It will not downshift to the appropriate gear if you even go WOT. It stays in the same gear. Yes, I flashed everything, went to original, waited on the "adaptives", etc. This has been going on for months on end with no update from you guys.

I can point to numerous posts where you advised you were working on it. My ride has suffered due to your tune.

I'm also put off that you seem to get bent out of shape at times when people are ticked off at you. Sure, certain folks are pains in the butt and will never be pleased, but a bunch of your customers- the same customers you've made tons of cash off of- are kind and pleasant and patient, including me. I'm shocked to see some of DS' responses on other threads.

I would like an update as to the status of the downshift issues. I have tried every fix on here along with the scores of others on the forums. Thank you.

As per instruction, I reinstalled the 93CAI tune. It now is AWESOME. I do not know what changed but it shifts great and the power is really there. It bangs it into the next gear at 6400rpms and does not hesitate a bit. tripple digits in a heartbeat or two maybe. All I can say is DANG & OH yea, thanks again.
Maybe it'll see some 12s at the track this year.

As a suggestion, the Diablo's have a data logger on them. Start logging your rpms, speed, throttle position etc to get the data to help explain what you're experiencing. By comparing your graphs from one version of S/W to another, some information may be gained to help explain the differences. If the results are materially different, mail them in ... at least it will show what the measurements are when you've noticed the difference.

We scan the forums every day and to be honest there are not alot of complaints from 07 srt8 owners, what rev are you using?

I am having the same issue with not down shifting. Man is it annoying! I just got the Predator and this is disappointing

I have a 300c SRT8 w/ Hi-flow cats, CAI, Gibson catback, and 180* tstat.

Hi Johan-

Actually, you should scan forums from about 4 months ago on. We have been promised resolution many times. There are 14 guys in my group all with the same '07 ChSRT8s. We posted on here a bunch, too. It's every rev. Just do a search on my name on even this forum. Most of my posts have been about this issue.

There are a whole bunch of people with that downshift issue. In automatic ("D") it will not drop down like it did before the tunes. We've pulled fuses, reset modules, everything.

Thanks for your quick response on that post, by the way. Just please take a moment and search my user name- should be the last 15 posts or so.

Thanks.

Okay. I did what you asked, Johan, but it didn't work. The shifting in the two tunes that you sent me were definitely different (see above). For now, I think I'll be using r18 or r17 until this gets worked out. I'd love to be part of the solution, so if there's anything I can do from California please let me know and I'll do what I can.

I'm frustrated and I know you are too, because you stated you sent me the 93CAI r20 with r18 shifting "feel" and that worked. Except, I don't have access to 93 fuel. So, you sent me the same thing in the 91CAI, but the shifting went to crap again. I don't know what to make of that, but the fact remains - they were different.

If you had a 93 tune you liked, you can just pull 2* of timing for use with 91 octane...
