I originally had 8r05, but was sent 7r19dz to work with my vehicles programing. Will the new version work on my tool? I would like to give it a try.

If your previous revision was 8r05, your tool must say "booting_pstroke73".
The 7r19dz crom is for tools that say "booting_ford_7_3", and should not (?) work in your tool.

Let's see what the DS people say......

We have conversion croms to allow 7r19 to work in _pstroke73 tools.

9t02b not good for me

Use the 85 HP tune for best mileage...
The new crom caused my excursion to buck in 85 HP. It was shifting up and down rapidly. I put in 2nd to get around the block and the bucking stopped. I tried the tow tune next and was not able to start due to PATS not recognizing my key. Back to stock for now and everything back to normal.

Unfortunately, I now cannot go back the 7r19dz that was working for me as the tool says it cannot load the pstroke crom in the ford tool. But, that is what I had to use instead of 8r05 to work with my vehicle.

Ok, so this was an excursion.
There is a PATS switch in the adjustable parameter menu, go there and turn it ON, then reinstall the tune, it should be fine at that point...

Anyone want to by a predator?

Post by sjp649 »

Ordered a DP Tuner today, tired of the "support" we have received here. Jody was awesome to deal with, and answered all my questions.

Me 3. I was talking with a guy who works on the Diesels in a school fleet and he said the new government requirements for Diesel processing have not only driven the price up but have also robbed the fuel of some of its' power. Is there anything to that? Is that why my mileage continues to drop?

The ULSD, as I understand it, has less lubricity than the LSD. Something about the refining process for taking out the sulphur. Most people I have heard llost maybe 1 mpg on the switch. But it doesn't keep dropping; you lose what you lose, and that's it. If your mileage continues dropping, return truck to stock prograam and check mileage. I was losing .3 mpg from stock running the 60 HP tune with a U7170; 1 mpg on the 100 HP tune; and 2.7 with the 85HP tune. 2001 7.3PSD with CAI; 4" Turbo back exhaust.

Did not see any option for PATS, but was able to clear the code and it would start. This of course did not fix the shifting problem. Shifts back and forth directly between 1st to 4th.

Was able to get 7r19dz reloaded with the file you sent.
