I think in very early releases they allowed you to disable the knock sensors. I suppose the idea was for people who had false knock. Like from aftermarket valve springs for example. So then a few people blew up their motors by turning the knock sensors turned off. So Diablo decided they should probably take that option out. Too dangerous for the uninformed. I think there is/was some issue with our cars on the dyno and ESP. I believe the option was there for use on a dyno (only).

Why do you think that a NO-ESP feature is something you need? Can't you use the button on the dash? I believe the NO-ESP feature on the Predator will disable your ABS where the dash button will not. There is no reason you want abs disabled while driving the car

I see it as a sort of balancing act for Diablo. They want to sell the tuner to the general public but if they make it safe enough to sell at Kmart it's not going to be very useful.
Do you really have to respond to everyones post? You are not an employee of Diablo Sport and you probably don't have any formal training on the tuner other that playing around with yours. Please let the Professionals respond and keep you suggestions to yourself. There are plenty of LX forums for you to share your recomendations on. I come here for help from the pros ONLY!!!
Why wouldn't he want to share what he knows? Why wouldn't he want to voice his opinion?

If the dudes at Diablo spend all day on the forums how are they going to get any real work done? I know this comes across a bit harshly, and it's in no way intended that way - but I enjoy reading what I considered (so far anyway :-) ) to be informed replies.

If we discuss, then when the 'Pros' see this thread, they may already have a better idea of what to do/say.

I'm doing my homework and reading up on all this, as I'm getting CMR'd on Sept 10 - not yet a Predator owner, but soon. (the MoneyTree flowered a bit!)

I am reading all of this, really is enjoyable hearing what everyone else is doing and thinking, here is my take....my SRT burns rubber like mad on the Predator with ESP on, really burns rubber with the ESP pressed once and ESP pressed and held (disabled) just seems like it really lights em up! It's all fun.

How did this turn into an ESP thread?
It would still be nice to find an exact explanation of the 9r08 shift modes for the SRT8 and how they work with '06, '07 and '08.
I already have the TCM update to "07, So I have auto upshift in Auto-Stick.

Truly, would it not just be easier to !!!DOCUMENT!!! what these options mean and provide the documentation to the customer?

Really Diablo, I appreciate that you are on the cutting edge, but the doc for this product has not been updated since 10/01/07. The tool has menu items that we are left to only guess at, or worse yet, attempt and perhaps accomplish something that results in confusion or problems. Must we hack at your product and figure out what it does?

They can't document everything because it changes with every revision. Would you rather fuck around with it and figure out what you need to know or pay a higher price so they can hire somebody to write a manual everytime they update a unit?

I'd rather not guess and perhaps suffer a painful consequence simply because something was not documented. It would take very little effort to update their scant documentation anyway. It's not unreasonable to expect a sentence or two to describe what MODE 1, MODE 2 and MODE 3 are intended for, much less something more substantial... like a paragraph.

At leaast do a sticky that is set-up for (DiabloSport only personnel to post) how certain Predator programming options operate. No harm to anyoen else.. it will just keep down seearching the posts to read and to find answers....actually.... have a thread to discuss what ends up in the sticky.

Example: Sticky: "9r08 Shifting Parameters". Then tell us exactly what we will see in the Predator menu and what it means plus what are the limiitations by TCM year.

What kind of car do you have? On the LX SRT8's if you press and hold the button all esp is disabled with the exception of ABS. I can't imagine any reason to turn off ABS while driving.
on 06 300c 5.7 you can go 10 miles an hour and turn the key like you were starting the car it would engage the starter dont worry and in like 3 secons your radio turns off and then it back on and you heard 3 dings and the squilly lines and bas shows but you still have abs thats what i do
hope it helps

mikel and johana, i think it starts with a bass are very good knowledable guys there the ones that answers millions of phone calls there tech guys if you will, the best.and they have mechanics and programers that do all the programming so give these guys a break they dont build the tunes they have to get schooled on new stuff to and remember all the shit they get from the programers, and dyno techs so please give them respect as they will know why something new comes out .if someone tells them about something new they say were working on a problem or solving a problem its not them its the other guys that say coming soon and then they have to here shit from people all day cause someone else told them it would be out
so please when they know whats up we will to
peace i hope this solves how you feel about them now.
