Leaving trinity connected drains battery on my challenger

Mr. Trinity never killed my battery, ever. I never read these threads for it didnt kill mine. Now Im reading.
This week alone Mr.Trinity killed my batt twice this week and twice last week. Why all the sudden ? it drains.
I now just unplug it. Sure to wear out the connector soon. Is this new download a sure fix ?

I hope this fixes my key fob not working all the time thing. It only started after I plugged in my Trinity and currently only works when I'm right up to the car. I have another key fob that I've never used since purchasing the car and the same thing occurs. If I unplug my Trinity, both work again and flawlessly. Weird.

Just wanting an update to anyone who has left their trinity plugged in......did the new fix work? I have the update but haven't risked leaving it in the car hooked up. I rather wait to hear that this is fixed first.

We have not seen 08 Chargers to be an issue, but it should work just the same if you had a problem.

I do recall that thread.

When I say we have not seen that to be an issue, I mean, out of 1000s of Trinitys sold, I have only seen that in the 2 vehicles listed there, and as mentioned, the other vehicle had similar issues with the Dashhawk, which 1000s of other people do not have problems with either.....see where I am going with this ?

Try the update, change the sleep time to 30 seconds, and let us know.

Ok. I wrote down my current adjustments to stock tune just in case(fan, etc)
Restored my original backup to the car.
Used the downloader and it updated the tool. It loaded the entire update to the tool. I think I saw every vehicle known to man load on there..lol

Set vehicle type and sat confused in car looking for new setting under options>

Then after rechecking the thread I realized the incremental is in this thread, not on the updates page, so I added trinity_u7135-1t07ca and updated

Then it said it wasn't married to vehicle.
Modified stock tune and it saved original backup, modified stock tune then loaded in car.

I'm I correct to this point? I think I goofed by installing original backup when I started...but I was paranoid

I then found the new setting and set it at 30 seconds

I started the car. Put the Trinity in monitoring mode. Shut off car and noticed the delay at the "halt monitoring" screen seemed much longer. A good sign..I'm seeing something different..update applied correctly

After key off I listened and heard the sub heartbeat a few times while the CAN bus settled a bit. Then heard nothing.

I'll leave it overnight and report what I find.

I installed the update and the Trinity and car equipment does now shut off and the battery drain drops from 4 amps (4000 mA) down to about 150mA.

Without the Trinity attached the normal parasitic battery drain is about 20-30mA.

So the update did solve the problem of the battery draining overnight.

I still would not want to leave the car setting with the Trinity connected for more than a week or so at most.

Thank you for the update waumo, I think I'll stick to not leaving mine in the car unless I plan on doing some playing. I just don't like the idea of leaving it in the car and still not satisfied about the draining of the battery possibility.

waumo, I have left my Trinity hooked up for a week and it will indeed kill the battery. Disconnect it and I can let the car sit a week with no problem. So you are correct. Sitting a week may kill your battery with it hooked up.
