11z71 wrote:Well, i downloaded the crom you sent me mike, everything looked good, diablo tranny tunes finally came up in menu, went to install my tunes, backed up originals for both pcm and tcm, the trinity proceded to install pcm tune, then tranny tune, no sooner did the counter start for flash for tranny tune the trinity locked up for whatever reason, then it said in the display that last tune did not finish. the original will be restored, hit ok, restore original back up now? select yes, Tells me unable to restore original backup, select more info and comes up with tcm= error write failed(-18). This is all that it does now when i plug it in, it repeats the same menu's regardless of how long i leave it unplugged, I can't tell whats in the truck for software now, it runs and drives fine, but my trinity is locked now.
got it sorted out, ran into the exact same issue here on the boss' 2011 CTSV, I am emailing you the update now.

You'll need to call from the PC so we can force the update on since the tool is locked.
Once the update is on, it will allow you to restore in recovery mode, then you can tune away ;)

fixed ;)

emailing you the update now.

Hey mike thanks for figuring that out, here's my issue though, yesterday at work I blew my knee out so I am gonna be out for a while until we figure out what's up with it. All my stuff is on my work computer. I'll get back with you when I'm back. When that is though I don't know. Thanks for your efforts.

Alrighty... I did some testing and while it worked I noticed some bugs... Thought I would post them up to help out get them worked out. It would appear I had an error trying to go from econo mode programing to 87 tuning, because it would appear econo mode didn't backup the TCM... Then I got odd errors about cal not supported but only once... So I went was able to restore backup and then went from 87 to econ and that appeared to work better and tranny was shifting nice at WOT, but needed some more help at normal driving. Then I got home and wanted to go back to stock and it said pcm error -1 but I tried it again and it worked. So it just seems like I have to try a few times for some reason, also I unnderstand this is still beta testing... The question I wonder is, I like the g8 shifting in sport mode that we have, can I copy those stock settings over to the ext? Or does the EXT shift different because it is 2000 pounds more and AWD? Good work and I can't wait for the completed code to be released. Also can't wait for TCM to work with ECO mode tunes as well. Also I can do more testing if you want me to try specific things as well. This was on my 2011 escalade ext, with 6.2 and 6l80e.

It sounds like your tcm was not supported.
Did it actually let you select a tune, or just the 'modify stock tune'.

Thanks

Yes it did, it let me pick the 87 tune and it did back up the PCM and then the TCM. Let me know if you want me to upload my TCM so you can confirm it was supported.

How do I do that? Also it won't be until friday as I dropped the car off to get scratches fixed and a window seal replaced.

just export the backups with the DSDownloader.
