I don't have much to say on this subject, but I like your sig quote....

cause it true, it pretty hard justifying spending almost 400 hundred dollars on a tuner and then another 300 hundred bucks for custom tuning every time my V/E tables change. when i can spend 600 on hp tuners and get unlimited tuning for that price. hmmm sct, diablosport, is outdated technology come release of hp tuners which by the way is a fraction of what your cmr software costs. matter a fact i could buy hp tuners 4 times over for that price.

Outdated?
I love how people think we have not been competing with HPtuners already for YEARS in the GM market...yet we still seem to sell THOUSANDS of tools to GM car and truck owners....
Bottom line...if you are not familiar with OBDII tuning, HP tuners is NOT a solution, but will rather be a big problem. It is too easy to screw something up in these complicated calibrations, and having all that access can come with mixed results.
There is A LOT to be said for a product that offers safe, canned tunes, and simple to use adjustable parameters, while leaving the tough stuff (custom tuning) to the PROS.
I have to laugh out loud at your 'outdated' statement though, as like I said, HPtuners has been around for even longer than they have been promising DCX support, yet here we are, still thriving.
Also, have you noticed that HPt is available for 05+ Mustangs, yet your 2 outdated tuning companies are the dominant forces in the Ford tuning world...?
Considering our reputation in the DCX market, and the fact that we were the first and still only ones to offer any sort of custom tuning for that market, I would venture to say HPtuners will not affect our dcx sales, except for those who get tuned with HPt then decide they would like to have a Predator to either tweak their tune with, or to datalog without the need for a laptop with you everywhere you go....

why is it that diablosport is so concerned with people having to much tuning access on their vehicles. is it cause the diablosport is the only ethical company out there or cause a part of their profit margins come from selling 5000 dollars worth of tuning software to dealers.
and your handheld tuners maybe top of the line as far as handhelds go and i dont doubt that many people will continue to by them for the canned tunes and leaving the hard stuff to the pros. but the problem is that leaves no options for the guys that need more than a canned tune.
is your handheld gonna help me tune my 392 with custom cam and .39lb injectors no its gonna help some other guy make money off of me to email me a tune from across the united states.
and most tuner who tune gm are using hp tuners and have cmr only to tune dodge what do you think is gonna happen when they dont have to.
its amazing that a company who has the market cornered as far as handhelds and dodge tuning is unwilling to see their demise in front of them and listen to their customers but in fact insult them and their intelligence.

Whoah....at no time have I meant to insult you in any way, if I have come across that way, it is not my intention. Just a friendly chat here is all.....
Also, have you looked at the prices (if they are even available for the HPt DCX stuff) for their dealer version of the software.
As a shop owner, it is much easier to recoup our software price vs. their unlimited tuning package pricing. Gotta sell a LOT of custom tunes just to break even.

im not insulted and yes this a friendly chat between to adults who have their points. but lets be honest you guys feel like the general public is not smart enough to tune their own vehicles. give us tuning and we will give you 1000 hp dodge's.

LOL, now again, this is NOT an insult, but being in this industry for several years, I can assure you that no, the general public is NOT smart enough to tune their own vehicles. There are even people out there with CMR that probably should not be tuning vehicles, but they have the software, and are thus called 'tuners'.....

the key word here being "general" public... the "general" public, no - can not and should not have the software...
but the avid user/enthusiast with tuning knowledge should be able to handle it...
but, like mike says... I'm sure there are even those out there that have it when they really shouldn't... heh...

Seriously DS, just release the single user CMR. When Brian was with the company he said he was working on it, and that it shouldn't take long. Send me the code and I will implement the tool/vin/software locking for free.

If people want to buy it and have no idea what they are doing, that's their deal. You could also destroy your engine with the Predator so that isn't a good excuse.

Thats just the excuse being brought up here...the big problem, and reason it has yet to be released is, how do we support it?
There are NO notes in the DCX CMR software. 99% of the tuners who open DCX CMR for the first time are COMPLETELY LOST. This includes tuners who have been using CMR for years to tune Fords and GMs, as well as standalone tuners, import guys, you name it.
So, IF we released it, we have to come up with some sort of documentation.
Then, we have the problem of 'where do I change my A/F ratio?' or 'how do I reduce TM?'...and we are not at all looking to answer those questions.
There would be NO tuning support, software support only, and it would all be forum based. Even then, our current resources would be stretched thin, so there has to be great demand for it in the market in order to justify the expense on our end of getting the software ready for the public and being able to support it somehow, while still being able to sell it for a somewhat affordable price....tough boat to be in.

See Mike, there you go with that rational thinking stuff again... Since when has that gotten you anywhere?

I fully understand the concerns you guys have and why you don't want to release it, but that doesn't change the fact that I want it.
One thing I will say is that the SRT-4 community had a nice group of people that were working together to help each other out with the SCT PRP. I know you guys actually like to support you products, but I'm sure communities will form.

I hear you load and clear on that.
I will say that as far as I am concerned, if/when it is made available, SRT4 will be the absolute first application released, since as you mention, there are quite a few guys in that community that know their way around these PCMs.

Its not that you could not figure out how to adjust the 12 or 15 different timing tables (!) in each cal, but things like Torque Calculation (Friction Torque Loss) aint so easy to figure out (vacuum kPa vs RPM) or what does the Torque Management functions do?
Obviously they control TM, but what do you even do to reduce TM?
What is the speed ratio in the first cell?
Its things like that, which I personally do not have answers to, that would be tough for anyone to figure out.
Some of that stuff, Johan is still figuring out what it does or how it does it to this day....

go to hptuner's site and look at their screenshots.... but picture it without the fancy color 3-d graphs and color-coded tables...
basically, visually, it looks just like an Excel spreadsheet with just numbers in all the cells...
