Re: Few issues with E version Tune.. 2012 SRT Charger
what about the MDS, can that be turned off yet?
as for the throttle boost, i remember reading that DS ups the throttle around 15% in their tunes.( correct me if im wrong)
in my 2008 srt8 i upped the throttle 15% more and it was just right. thats were i would start again.

I do note there doesn't appear to be any fresh 'my cars bricked' posts.
Re: Few issues with E version Tune.. 2012 SRT Charger
That's only because those of us who have been affected haven't gathered the courage to try.
I'm goading mikesuperbee to try first. Hahahahah

Nah, there'll be lots of people who have run E version and have not come here to post because it's worked ok. I'm thinking about trying it. I can't make up my mind as to the best thing to do. If I drive to a dealer and do it at the entrance to the service bay then I can't really phone DS if I have an issue that can be rectified over the phone. If I do it out the front so I can easily get it on a tow truck I can phone ok but I'll be up for a big tow bill which could be avoided by driving to the dealer. lol. I dunno. Or wait for F. Fark, I dunno. Might dwell on it a little longer.

What is interesting is that when I try to enter the performance tune with the trinity plugged in I get low voltage warnings all the time. Which lends credence that the problems may be related to low voltage.
This is with 'e'
Why don't you plug it in and try. See if you get low voltage issues. If not I suspect it will be fine for you.
I'm going to plug a battery to the existing battery and see if the voltage issues go away.
Will update.

When I put the tune into my charger I had a battery charger hooked up to the car. When I frist tried it it said I had low voltage. With the charger hooked up it went in fine. I am now running the "e" version. NO Problems.

mikel... question for you
i get incessant low voltage messages whenever i enter the performance tune menu.
why do you think this is the case? my car is only a few months old and the battery seems otherwise ok? the menu says 12 V when i look at the centre console.
is the recommended procedure to connect a charger up to it?
is this how you were able to make sure 'e' did not brick any cars?
thanks for helping...
i am slowly gathering up courage to try it again at some stage.

nope...it will have to wait after new years.
i kinda want to wait until my dealer gets the cmr tuning
Re: Few issues with E version Tune.. 2012 SRT Charger
Ok, I did it. lol. Went ok. I loaded the 91 and 93 tunes, tried them both. Was a little hard to tell how much difference it made because there was too much traffic around to give a proper test. No issues, but I had a battery charger connected to the car set to 'supply'. There was no voltage issues. Adjusted the throttle up on the 2nd test to 12.5 which felt about right for me, maybe one click further needed but either way much better.
All in all I'd have to say I noticed a bigger difference with a CAI and Predator tune on the old 5.7 than I did with this car, but to be fair an SRT8 starts out higher up so the gains might not be as noticeable. I need to play further before I draw any real conclusions.
No issues, so far, with E version. Tomorrow I'll put the factory tune back and cross my fingers that's successful too.
Cheers.

piggy
did you try without the battery charger connected? i.e. dont try to tune but see if you get the voltage issues when you enter the menu.
it is strange... but when i have driven the car around a bit... and then connect it up... seems to be fine... its only after a few minutes the low voltage thing pops up again...
weird. the lights, stereo, aircon etc seem to be full blast. why the low voltage is more of my concern... im sure the battery itself is fine...
anyone at diablosport know???????? what is the cause of the low voltage.?

I didn't try without the charger. I wanted to avoid any possible issues not encourage them.
