I appreciate that suggestion, but I think I'll just stick with what you guys have put out in the canned tunes. I'll patiently wait for a more permanent fix from DiabloSport.

I wish I was close to you - I'd let you have my car for a week. These tunes do not downshift properly, at all - at least on the 2006 5.7s. I don't know about the other years - I haven't been keeping score. There is no reason for someone to be cruising in "D" at 50MPH, decide to get on it, downshift using autostick, and end up in 4th gear. The proper gear it should put you in is 2nd, so it's not even close. I'm not the only one with this issue, in fact I bet that it's across the board, at least on the '06 5.7s.

I know you guys are busy and have your direction re: new model vehicles, special projects, etc., etc., but please don't forget us. I would be competely satisfied if you just make a concerted effort in the near future to fix this issue, rather than just blow by the topic. Thanks in advance.

9R02 - Shifting behavior changed on my 08 R/T

I just updated to 9R02 to see if it helped the shift issues with 8R20. the behavior is different, but there are still problems.

With shift points increased and rev limiter up +600, I get this behavior:
Gear 1 to 2 - Problem solved. No "wah wah wah wah"
Gear 2 to 3 - big problem. Car sticks at 6000 RPM and never shifts.

I guess this is better at the track. At least from gear 2 to 3, I have some time to think about when to shift. But it is still a problem, and I'm sure it's not good to be stuck at 6000 RPM with the pedal to the floor for too long.

I'm hoping this will get fixed eventually.

When R20 first came out I returned my car to stock and updated my predator. I loaded my custom tune back to my predator and when I went to go install it on my car it wouldn't show up. I don't know why, but I could not get my custom tune to show up on my predator with R20. So I went back to r19.

Then when 9r01 came out I decided to give that a try. It took my custom tune just fine and all was good, I thought. I went out to go do a few WOT runs one night and noticed my car was shifting at 6200 RPM in all the gears and was doing really crappy shifts. Before it was shifting at 5800 RPM from 1-2 and 6000 in the other gears. I thought my transmission might be slipping. I then set my predator back to R19 and now my car shifts fine.

Well these issues must be 5.7 specific, cause my 6.1 shifts perfectly with the r20. Ran 12's yesterday with it. Good job Diablo!

I have the exact same problem on my 08 Charger 5.7 RT with the R/T package. I was at the track on Sunday night and 1st to 2nd took forever and made a strang noise while shifting. 2nd to 3rd I was hitting my rev limiter at 6200 rpm and the trans would only shift if I let off the gas. WHY????????
Has this issue been resolved? :?:

I care, but I'd care more if your car was a 2006 5.7, as we've seemed to have establish that this is more 2006 5.7 specific. I'm happy for you, though.

I know, but I thought the 06 was corrected in the new revisions. I haven't seen any posts from kymag and his 08 for awhile so I thought it was finally fixed for all. Well I felt left out with my 07 when I could not disable the autoshift and rev. limit was 5800 but its been fixed, so I hope yours gets taken care of also.

9r02, I just bought it. I also noticed that now if I gas it from a dead stop my transmission is making a strange noise on the 1st to 2nd shift. I hope I didnt blow my transmission! It wasnt doing this prior to installing the Diablo!!! My car only has 4800 miles. The noise that my transmission made when I installed the Diablo was like a waste-gate noise that a turbo would make before shifting from 1st to 2nd, after that the transmission would hit super hard. I think this is what screwed up my transmission. I installed the 91 CAI Tune when all this started.

Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still having a problem with my car hiiting the rev limiter. The tuner does seem to do everything else fine now and it didn't before when the tuner was killing my performance and shifting. I am using 9r04. Still no raised shift points.

Have you tried raising the limiter up pretty high, like +4-500 rpm?

Thanks

I raised it as high as it would go(+600). It hits the limiter on the 2-3 shift. I haven,t tried the 1-2 shift with this crom but with r902 it shifted fine 1-2 so I guess it still does. When I disable auto up shift I get 1-2-3-4-D. No 5. I always had that to happen using the 93 tune before with r20 but not with 91 tune. Maybe I need a flash, I don't know.
