Seasons Greetings Everyone! Just a quick update, I have not really been able to run and get good mpg numbers, but with winter here in Michigan I thought I would let all interest know that the FlexFuel tune is running great in the winter months, good starting and performance. E85 is presently not worth running with gas prices as low as they are, but it seems (I have no real data yet) that the truck and tune work best with about 20%-30% ethanol mix in the truck, so once in a while I do put a few gallons of E85 (now E70 in Michigans cold weather) in the tank and to snub our dependency on foriegn energy. Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday Season and Great New Year!......Mark

Hey Mike L or anyone else that has the answer. My truck is running fine, but I was wondering, my FLX7193 tuner gives the option of changing tire sizes. I just loaded the tune as it came from Diablo and never set anything. Was I suppose to set up tire size and gear ratio for my particular truck before I loaded the tune? My truck is all stock with 3.73 gears and the original 245/75/16 "off road" tires, so I did not think I had to set anything if the truck was stock, but after reading some posts on here I am now wondering if I had to set my stuff in the intial tune load to the truck or is the tune all set as it comes from DiabloSport?

Thanks,
MarcoEngineering

if your gears and wheel/tire sizes are stock then there is no need to adjust anything...

you'd use those options if you changed to something different from the stock gears/tire size...

I have a quick question for anybody that has the answer. The flex fuel tune works great in the truck to date, with and without E85, in the cold and hot weather. I don't run the staright E85 much since the cost is so close to gas, but I will top off with it every now and then to support the home grown fuels. MPG and performance tend to be best with a 20%-30% E85 mix in the tank. My question: will my FLX7193 flex fuel tune give me more performance and/or MPG if I run 100% gas with the 93 octane vs. the standard 87? I know there is a slight MPG drop with E85 and a slight improvement with "100%" gas, but I was wondering if your tune will give me even more if I run 89, 93, or higher "100%" straight fuel from the pump?

Thanks,
MarcoEngineering

Yes, due to the octane sensing nature of the tune, you'll get better power from the 93 octnae.

Hey MikeL or anyone else that knows. I have the FLX7193, has there been any updates or revision since August of 08 on this unit and tune. I looked at downloads and they saw a 9r01 revsion and dowload file. I assume that this is the original file since it is 01, but if it is the original tune file how come it is posted in downloads? I do not have the tool availiable to look at right now as it is in the truck and the truck has been loaned out for a few days, but I figured you guys would know the answer right up front. I just want to be sure I am running the latest stuff that is out there if I can. Thanks for any information.

The update was for the new hardware we started using for the Predators, tunes remained unchanged for the FLX part numbers.

Hi Mike, I have not seen Andy from DynoTune posting much lately, do you know what he has been up to these days? I must say that I am happy with my FLX7193 tuner. I have had it for about a year now, and all performs as advertised. Just wish the price of E85 was less than it is around my house, but the tune works great with and with out the ethanol, but I know most fuel is already E10 and they are talking about going to E15 at the pump here in the future, and I am glad to know my truck can handle it optimally with the Flex Fuel tune in the truck.

Hi All. I have been away from the board and site for a while and I was just wondering why I can seem to find the FLX predator part numbers listed for purchase on the DS home page under Predator? I maybe just blind or looking in the wrong spot. Does anyone know if you can you still by the 2 Flex tune/tuner form DiabloSport? I see Andy has done some recent posts about the ethanol and tuner in May. I have to say I really like my FLX7193 tune in the truck. If it just made the Suburban get say 30 mpg it would be perfect, but I like the option to buy the $2.29 e85 vs. the 2.99 regular or even the 3.29 93 octane when towing, the E85 and E85 mixed with regular did a great job this past month towing 33 sqaures (and related equipment and accessories) of shingles up north, truck ran like a champ, even up the landfill mountain to dump the tear off. I was just curious to see why I can't find the part numbers listed anymore.

Anyone in the know with DiabloSport, where are the flex fuel tuners? I don't see any part numbers or reference on the site as to buying a new flex fuel tuner. Is this going to be a special tune from Andy now instead of a pre packaged predator? Intuner? Trinity? Just curious as to what is up going forward into the future. I have had a few people as me about mine and I am not sure what to tell them.

Thanks,
MarcoEngineering
