Re: Welcome to the inTune section of the forum!

Post by SilvrVette »

I've seen some of the info I'm asking but never in a way that satisfies my curiosity. I've been on the forums - both at DS and on several Vette forums.

I have a 06 base Vert - A6 w/paddles
Only mods are a K&N CAI and a "Sprint Booster"

Turns out Mrs Claus is giving me a DiabloSport InTune. Mrs. Claus also thinks my foot is too heavy as it is - and she really doesn't know what a tuner does ...

So,

Question 1 - how many separate tunes can be loaded at once? Any problem with them "walking over" one another and messing up my car? I am not considering getting a full-up 3rd party tune - just the ones provided by Diablo.

Question 2 - I'm planning on loading the 93 octane and whatever else I can (based on the answer to #1) to free up some of the cars lower-end grunt. ... (Additional reading here - I guess I'll load the CAI tune. But what else?)

Question 3 - Is there any way to make the car feel "stock" some of the time - say with the shifter in "regular drive" mode, and then turn on the nasty with the shifter in "sport" mode? (This will help to ensure Mrs Claus won't get her panties in a wad - at least when she wearing any :D )

Question 3 - Do I have to / should I remove the Sprint Booster before applying a tune(s)? It's a gimmick that "improves acceleration by continuously measuring and converting the digital signal provided by the ETC’s potentiometer, and providing the ECM with a new and altered signal. <http://www.sprintboosterusa.com/c-603-at.aspx>

Thanks in advance

1 - the intune comes with a 91 octane tune and the Diablo Tune - which is for 93 octane...

2 - there is no "CAI" tune for GM vehicles.. not needed like Fords do... again, there is a 91 Octane Tune and the Diablo Tune... and you could also get a custom tune done for it, for even better/more gains - www.diablewtune.com

3 - yes, the preset tunes should make it feel just like that.. if not, it can be done by getting a custom tune done for it...

4 - yes I would remove that sprint-booster thing.. could cause communications issues between the tool and ecm... plus, the throttle response is improved with the tunes, no need for that gadget....

Modifications to the Intune i1000

Post by MrBliek »

I've had the i1000 installed onto my truck for a few months now running the 93 Octane tune, my question is I want to mess with the parameters a little but I'm afraid to mess with something a little too much and mess up my ECU, so what would some of the things I should be careful with while messing with the parameters?

My intune just has 3 options for tunes, diablo tune, 87 tune, and modify stock tune. I thought it would come with a 91 pre-loaded tune or is the diablo tune option the 91 octane tune? My vehicle is a 04 mustang gt.

Monte - usually great advice .. But I kept my Sprint Boooster (I can turn it off). Marked difference with it on - like rubber in 1st, 2nd, and ... pushing it ... 3rd with my auto tranny. Makes the tune come alive in my A6. I know it's working when my saintly wife starts cussing me out.

fan controll - 2014 sierra 6.2

Post by typhoon186 »

In-Tune does not have a way to adjust the fan control settings on the 2014 Sierra/Silverado 6.2. Is this something that could be added in a future software update?

I have a 2000 Corvette, I just changed out my differential from 2.73 to 3.15. I need to be able to modify the gear ratio parameter but it does not exist. There is also no speedometer parameter as well.
Thanks
