Although my Colorado 5.3 only has 300 and a little bit, it's not a tire burner. The power is there but with 4 wheel drive and the Detroit locker in the rear it hooks up in a hurry, even under slipery conditions. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Ali just called me. She said if you wanted she would talk to her boss and try to get it down to like $53k.

Already spoke to the boss and gave him a deposit. I'll be up on Friday.

You're gonna need to get the PCM and possibly the TCM flashed before you can put on a tune. I left the pulley tune on it, and it didn't ask me for a TCM tune, so it may still have the old Firm tune on it. I do have the backups if Mike knows a way to put them back on.

If you're gonna race it, and knowing you, you will, injectors are needed too. Its at 105% duty cycle at WOT.

It's all good. I'll figure it out. Better to run on a tune as is instead of nothing. At least in the meantime. I still got the new snout with 2.5 upper, so I'll buy 1000s instead of the 850s. Found a set Bosch "id1000" on ebay for $540 OBO but I think they are just flow matched not true id1000 which may be hard to tune.

Are those the 1000s from Fuel Injector Connection? Those are the ones I was running on it. I still have the tunes for them. Actually I still have the injectors, but Mikes friend is interested in them.

Yup, those are the ones. I almost went with stock injectors that were flowed to 85lbs but everybody told to get real id850s because flow matched are hard to tune, so I sided against it.

Little secret; The ID850 are modified stockers. So are the FIC injectors. Jessie Bubb runs FICs on all his builds, so apparently they're good enough for the builders, but not good enough for the bench racers who hide behind their monitors on the Cadillac forums.

If you want injectors built to 92#, you're stuck with Bosch Racing, which run $99 each.

FWIW, Johan had no problem tuning the injectors with the data FIC provided.

It's just what I've been told at the track. But I guess it all goes back to tuning since some people have really aggressive timing on their tunes. If you didn't have any problems, I guess I'll stick with the FIC's.

Only problem I had was an occasional hard start, which of course never happened when I was logging so Johan couldn't fix it. He says its simply adding or subtracting fuel on crank, but we don't know which way to go without a log of it happening.

That shouldn't be a problem either, I'll figure it out. So just how bad are the scratches on the fender?

You can only see them if you're looking for them. They blend in pretty well. If their detailer is worth his paycheck and knows how to color sand, they should be virtually invisible. 2 wheels have paint chips, that i couldn't fix because GM doesn't sell the paint. Was quoted $80 and 6 hours each to match and repaint.

Yeah, that's what he was probably talking about. He said he wanted to make the car perfect, but of course, that comes at a price. But we shall see.

I was only asking $400 for them. Considering they have less then 400 miles on them, I thought that was a fair price.
