U7193 update available?

I have had mine for a little less than a year. It would be nice if they offered us the opportunity to upgrade even if it is for a fee.

Not a chance. And other than selling our current units and say getting a couple hundred for it, then buy a new with the new update already installed. Or return your current unit to DS for a $99 credit towards a new unit. Either option dosnt sit well with me.

Who even said this was the way it will work?
Where do you guys get this stuff.
We (I) have been very specific about not releasing any info about if/when/where/how this upgrade will happen, if at all, so lets not jump to any conclusions....

Mike from what I understand the New U7193's come with the new features. So that tells me and other I have spoken to that some sort of upgrade is out there. But as far as us folks that have had our U7193 having the opportunity to get them updated, the New U7193's are being sold. And Im getting most of my info from here, and statements being made from Vendors selling your products.
And as I said before, if its gonna cost a hundred bucks or more to do the update ( which the 7193 should have had in the first place ) then to me and others I have spoke to feel its not worth it. That means I will have close to $500 invested into my Pred. And for that amount, not a chance. I even think in this thread you your self made a statement about the cost being a $100 or so.

I have made no mention of any updates being made available to add new features to older tools for any cost at any time.
We are not going to leave anyone in the cold, but I cannot say any more at this time.

Your missing my point and not reading what I type. I have spoken to folks here (DS) and on other forums (GTO) that the NEW 7193's that are being shiped out are now being shiped out with the new features (internet updateability and loging). SO that tells me that some sort of update is out there cause again the NEW unit has it. Hell even on your "download section" is the DS downloader for the U7193 and it wasnt there a short time ago, some one here even confermed that it was recently add for the NEW U7193. I even downloaded it to my laptop thinking the update was soon to fallow. So if new units can be sold with the update, why can our current units be sent in and updated. And as far as the cost guess that will be a bomb droped at the last min as well.

Ok well.... OK. I have to say that the Tuner said that the numbers were realy good for a bolt on car and that if he was to tune it with HPT he might be able to get a couple more hp/tq, but the Pred did a good job.
And as far as brand of fuel. I paid 4.08 a gal at Murphy (at walmart) vs Exxon right across the street wanted 4.24 and BP near the entrance to my apt complex wanted 4.26. So I guess do the math. Yup your right Ill be filling up at Murphy.
OH and on a side note, I just noticed the DS Downloader in the download section for the U7193. Is this somthing I just missed or did this recently come out. And will it work on my U7193 without and type of update?

nope, won't work for yours... that's for the new ones that are shipping, that can now log and are internet download updatable...

you'd need to find out about some kind of update offering for yours...

yup, as I replied to your PM's.. . don't deny saying that... nor do they deny that the new tools are different... as you stated, that's obvious due to the downloads available for them now...

I don't know about any kind of update program being offered yet, that's why I mentioned to find out from them if there was one for yours...

but as Mike posted above, apparently there is not one in place yet.

I am 100% aware of what you are saying, what you are not following is my request that you guys be patient and let us work this out.
I have NEVER said there will not be an update made available, thats all I can say right now, follow??

We are on the same page Mike. I do understand. What frustrates me is that there are new U7193's with the update we have been waiting on for how long now being sold and we are still waiting. As I said before and others have said as well this tool should have had the features to start with. But thats ok we bought them knowing they didnt. But now that the same unit I have in my car now is being sold buy you guys and other vendors new with the update, I ask my self if it worth waiting any longer for the update or should I just buy a new one. And sorry but patients is not something I have.

OH.....I get it now.......DS screws their current customers that have already bought into the predator and slips all the "new" features into current units being sold.

I guess DS doesn't care about maintaining customer satisfaction.

I guess the choices are....

Find someone with a new U7193 to make sure the "updated model" really works, then sell mine to buy a new one.

or keep my old unit and investigate buying things like a new PCM tuned by Nelson or someone.

And I heard SO much good about DS before I bought my predator.
