2010 Ram Hemi Tranny Jumping And Rough

Does not make any sense, do you think you could export last tune written right now, so it will export the custom tune, this way i can verify as something is not proper here.

Well that did look like what i sent you, try this one here, this one is identical to the other guy blazingzz's file. Aside from timing which is set up for 91 in yours.

Thanks Johan, installed the tune.
This morning I still could easy start the shaking when using the electronic gear select to force a downshift from second prime to second gear. I can't get it to slip/shake with the stock tune installed.
I couldn't reproduce the shaking with the gear select in D, but didn't go WOT all the way, roads are icy and it's snowing down here. Will report back when the weather conditions allow good WOT runs at 40-60mph.
PS do you know what causes the shake/slipping? Is it the transmission eating clutch plates when bouncing between gears?

Ok... I can't reproduce the shaking at WOT yet which is great but i have only drove the truck one day and the roads was wet only tested it a few times, but it does seem as if the shifting delay is gone at WOT going from 1-2 and 2-3 but now that it is gone you can really tell how easy the truck shift. It is not firm at all. Any way to get that thing to kick right into that next gear, maybe pull a little more tm. Im not sure though how you make it firmer. Also normal driving the shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 is still a delay no change. Feels as if someone was driving a stick shift, there is definitely enough time with that delay to push in the clutch and change gears lol. But if you could do something about the wot shift firmness and the part throttle firmness going into the next gears that would be great. The idle is not as high any more so that is better, but it still drops down when coming to a stop. Not to worried about that at this time. More concerned about the shifting Thank you so much Johan
Ok went through this thing from scratch here. Let me know.bonza wrote:Thanks Johan, installed the tune.

I am not sure what it might be, almost sounds like a rev limit or something.

Ok will try the tune, did a lot of WOT runs today with version 003 and couldn't reproduce the shaking without using the electronic gear select.johan wrote:Ok went through this thing from scratch here. Let me know.

I think the rpm jump up to the rev limit because it tries to shift to first gear when the second gear shift can't be made (since I can feel a hard braking moment when the rpm jump up to 6000). Maybe I can datalog the desired gear, Current gear and Last shift performed PID's so we can see what the transmission tries to do before the shaking starts.

Johan, don't like the 004 tune, it shifts and feels like it has the stock tune installed.
The 004 version is also shaking/slipping when going WOT at 45-50mph or when using the electronic gear select to force a downshift from second prime to second gear at 60mph.
Will install the stock tune tomorrow to check if I can reproduce the shaking running stock.

Unable to reproduce the shaking at any way with the stock tune loaded.
But when using the electronic gear select to shift back from second prime (3) to second gear (2) while going WOT the downshift isn't made under full power. You can feel and hear that the shift is made with a closed throttle (or almost closed). You can feel the acceleration stop and continuing when the shift is completed.
When I install the 87 of 91 oct tune the downshift is made under full throttle, maybe the transmission just can't handle that shift during full load.
PS when logging pid's the sample rate is too slow. You can't see the rpms jumping during the shaking.

bonza,
how many pid's are you logging? the less pid's you log, the faster the sample rate is.
is there a previous Crom that did not have this effect on your truck? if yes, I suggest re-installing that Crom in your tuner.
there are several Croms at the bottom of the page on this site, free download:

Johan, the truck still shakes the same as before when going to wot anywhere between the 40-65 mark. I will try the newest tune you posted for me but will not be about to try it until Monday I will let you know how it is.

Had 52 PID's selected, thanks will try again with less.white_lightning wrote:bonza,

With 9R06, the truck also had the shaking from time to time but I could drive weeks without a bad shift occurring. When using the electronic gear select to force a downshift 9R06 did also had the shaking. I never complained since their is no need to make a manual down shift from second prime to second gear since it's almost the same gear ratio. It's just a easy way to reproduce the shaking since the stock tune doesn't shake when making that shift.white_lightning wrote: is there a previous Crom that did not have this effect on your truck? if yes, I suggest re-installing that Crom in your tuner.

Will give 9R06 a try. Guess the more info Johan gets the faster he can find what's causing it.
Reply, I'm starting to think that its not a tuning issue. I personally believe the 545rfe can't handle the horsepower being thrown at it. Mine does this as well with the tune, but doesnt with stock tune. I think a transmission upgrade with kolene steels and clutches is the way to go. Mine simply feels like it is slipping. Even with the line pressure booster, i don't think the stock clutch material can hold the horsepower. The reason why there is so much TM put into this motor. The trans, simply cant handle the potential power of this engine.
