I'd imagine the turbo is spooling much faster than the old croms....but I have not seen that issue on anything else so far...?

Does this new update (economy) increase MPG's or is it just for those who want the extra power???

Actually in theory, the extreme mode should give better mileage IF you can keep your foot off the petal. I have ran the new extreme tune and have found to be getting better mileage than I was with 9R13.

Fully improved tunes...better driveability, better mileage, better power all around.

Agreed, nice tune especially when your foot is in it, no more codes that I have found either. I have been running 8r17 and although it surges it has better response in lower RPM's but not as much when you push it hard and not as much boost maybe 20 max on the factory gage, the new tune hits 30 easily and maybe more have not pushed it that hard yet. I'm curious if there is more that could be done for the older VXCF4 and its more liberal timing parameters than the later 7 and 9 factory tunes allow. I have a spare FICM (moderate tune from Eric at Innovative Diesel) and ECM (reprogrammed from Power Hungry to factory VXCF4) that I am currently running with this latest tune for the Predator above. Also I have noticed a significant difference in sound, specifically the latest CROM is much quieter than 8r17 likely due to less timing but I am not sure. Any thoughts?

Im sure Buck would be willing to let you try a hotter tune, if you feel you are up for it
Post your backup and he should be able to help you out on Monday.

Any reason the new crom will not work with my old CAL VXAP1N6 on my 2003 6.0L ? The best mileage and performance ever was with 7r84 that i cannot go back to. - Thanks

New tune is great. Even though I go in shop Monday, I just installed it and it ran like a bat out of hell. Will test mileage when repair is done.

ok here is my experience with all 3 tunes on the highway.
tow. same old tow setting little bit more power terrible mileage. 10.5 - 12 on dash
performance. pretty good power and better mpg. 12 - 15.5 on dash
extreme. holy fucking shit. my truck is a smokey rocket, cant say enough about this one its just plain awesome. on the highway passing is like a sports car. 12 - 13.5mpg on dash.
All tests done on the highway from 100-125 km/h i wanted to try and vary speed to see if mpg increased. so overall mileage is still not that great. my truck however does have 35" mud tires on as well. i would suspect people with road tires would see great gains out of performance mode.
