U7135 with 9r08 revision on a 2006 300c 5.7. I cant tell for sure but it feels like the transmision is either shifting back and forth from overdrive to 4th gear or the MDS is cutting in and out. This happens at a steady speed and light throttle. Someone had posted about this and said it was the MDS cutting in and out. Can any one tell me if the MDS can be turned off and if it can give me detailed instructions on how to do it. I love the power I have gotten from the preditor but would like to get rid of this annoying back and forth feeling in the engine. Thanks for your help brandy16

When you select a tune you can scroll though and select MDS off. This will also turn off the EGR. No other way around it, but it will stop the MDS pulse you are getting. It's the same with the addition of a new exhaust and the drone and MDS pulse you get by that type of mod. 6.1 Hemi's dont have the EGR system just FYI.

FYI, the 6.1L Hemi's cams take care of EGR with some overlap. So in a way they do have EGR just not with a tube and a pump.

Yep, overlap puts some of the exhaust back into the intake stream so its kinda like an EGR, Kinda. It would be cool if the SRT's had more duration and lift than they do now too.

Darn emissions!!!

Thanks for the information. Do you know for sure that it is the MDS that is doing it or could it be the the way the tune changed the transmission shift points?. Thanks brandy16

Brandy16,
Just try turning the MDS off with the tuner and see. All I can say is that when I did the mods as in exhaust and the tuner my car would lunge forward at cruising speeds and the tach would jump by 200 rpm and then back down. When I turned off the MDS with the tuner it stopped.
Thanks to ZMagnum and SRT8Tech for the knowledge update, I thought they had a way around the EGR (6.1) just did not know how!!!!! Again thanks to you both.

FYI, turning the MDS off does not turn the EGR off, the predator just marks it as it does due to the code the predator runs.

I just Downloaded this new version 9r08, my last update was 9r05. I have a 2006 5.7 300c It says "modify stock tune and original backup was not visible for the new 06 calids we added, this is fixed now". I have had this since the first week of release and never had a problem untill now. I have no original backup, and it says its married to another vehicle but the VIN still matches and i have not touched it since 9r05 untill this last update.
What might the problem be is there any way to get 9r05 back for now beucase i cant do anything ...
thanks Alex

I am currently running the 9r05 in a 2006 300C SRT8. I'm thinking on going to the 9r08. I am very pleased with the 9r05. Any comments? What are the pros and cons?

Smockrat,
If you updated your predator before restoring the original backup to your car's PCM then that's not good and you will have to call Diablo for advice. Remember to restore your original backup prior to doing any updates to the tuner. If you still need the 9r05 crom I can provide a link to lxforums that has all versions of croms. let me know.

Smockrat,
I have a link here
http://www.300cforums.com/forums/perfor ... eases.html
Sorry but it seems that it has all croms except the 9r05, it has 9r04 jumps to 9r07. I downloaded from the same link and I dont have 9ro5 either. But there was no real difference between the 04 and 05 versions. Read the release notes at the link.
sorry about getting your hopes up!!!
