slp7198 "vin not found" help!!

Post by eacostad »

I installed the tune on my truck and when i went to change the parameters it got the error message VIN NOT FOUND and it says the tune was not installed properly and to restore, when I try to restore it gets an "unknown error", Script error interpreter stopped, ERROR writing process terminated, messages. now the truck wont even turn on either. How do I get it work?

to see if you truck will start for now, try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes, to reset/clear any glitches... then reconnect the battery cable and see if it will start.

did you have the key turned on to the proper spot?

after installing the tune, did you start the truck up in between trying to adjust parameters?? you need to...

anytime after doing a flash/tune write, always start the vehicle up before attempting to do another flash/tune write.

usually, script errors are due to a power drain from something... did you pull all the necessary fuses?? no power drains anywhere??

try hooking up a better charger to the battery while doing it?

i disconnected the battery for a few minutes and the tried to start it but it still wont start.

I have the key in the run position when trying to restore.

when first tuned it I started the truck and drove around the block but i didn't feel a difference in power, the slp site says this tune should put out 50rwhp so then i plugged the tuner back in to check it out and thats when I it got the error messages.

the battery is charged and i pulled all the fuses it says to pull in the manual.
I really need my truck to work.

Hey I decided to trade batterys with my other truck and it fixed the problem. Dont know what happened the first time I programmed it cause I followed the same procedures this time around and now there is a huge difference in power. My truck is AWD and now it makes a lil chirpin sound from the all the tires when I launch it. Very cool.
I have a BBK 80mm throttle body installed on the truck, do I need to change anything on the tune to get more power out of it?
Also have a k&n cold air kit and borla exhuast.

sounds like your original battery was no good, on its way out... wasn't maintaining the proper voltage... ;)

you can't save logs, but you can monitor your long term fuel trims bank 1 and bank 2 while you drive... so get your slope adjusted correctly to get your average ltft's in the proper 0 to -2 range...
