2006 Magnum SRT-8 Mileage Results

Post by computex13 »

Just got back from a 3,000 mile trip from SoCal to Washington State. 19.8 mpg overall, worst tank 16.8 (site seeing) best tank 22.4 (after speeding ticket in Oregon, used cruise control the rest of the way home). Predator and DynoTune is well worth the money!!

Not too shabby at all.
What speeds/rpm were you cruising at?

I was getting 19.2 to 20 @ 2500 rpm. Took it to 140 a few times, got there so quick, I backed off, still a lot left but didn't have time to look @ rpm. I have to be cool for a while but will keep posting mpg results. The factory mpg are really close but you have to keep you're foot off it once in a while. Before the Predator and Dyno, the best I got was 14 mpg.

Guys consider that I rented a 300 with a V6 for a 700 mile business trip this week. Got 22-24 mpg at about 77 mph, not too much worse than the big hemi ! Not near the fun. And we paid a gas guzzler tax for the 6.1L? My SRT gets about the same mileage as you guys say, I get 14-16 mpg with the E-85 tune.

Luckily 82/65. $242 fine. But they offer traffic school online and I qualify, I hope.

I GET 19.0 in my 06 Chrysler 6.1L SRT-8. That said, I go to the to the food store, ect and do 50 miles a day R/T to work. This with a Chrysler SRT-8! I am happy. Every 3,00 miles I put in a "small, 12 gal. and a large 20 gal. of "Chevron Chehron" . I have been doing this since 87. I had a Buick Grand National then. Today (now) I use the "Techron Fuel System cleaner" in the last tank of gas before I change the oil. I will pick up as much as 20 MPG with the additive. After3,000 miles I will drop back to 18.9/19/2 MPG. I am sure for the $16.00 For the small (12 gal) and the large(20 Gal) bottles of Tecron that I spend, I will save $45.00 in gasoline per oil change or 3,000 miles. I do not think a tune-up in a "Bottel" is possible.
