extreme puck on 2005 lly

Post by loganm »

I got the extreme puck the other day for my 05 duramax lly and it came with a shim kit. Is it required to do on my truck or just on the cummins? One set of instructions doesnt say anything about putting it on so i didnt know if it was required.
Thanks

Yes, the shim kit is required for proper performance....

Hooked the puck up and anything past a quarter turn on the dial makes the truck go into limp mode i guess( truck wont shift over 2000 rpm). It will do this when im not even on the throttle that much. It has done this several times and i have to keep unhooking the battery to reset it. Any answers?

Does it throw any codes?

Was the shim kit properly installed?

You need to tighten the fuel pressure relief valve that you installed the included shims in. You are still getting leak off around the valve, Please tighten this and let us know your results. Make sure you do this with a 6 point wrench and you may need another one to get enough leverage.

Well i went back out and checked the fprv and took it out again, the rubber o ring was stuck around the threads a little so i think that may have been messing things up on sealing the valve. I put it back in, no probs so far. Thanks guys
