I just picked up a Predator 990717 from a friend who sold his truck.

When I tried to program my truck, it displayed "This tool is not licensed for use with this vehicle."

Revision: v.7r19d
Date: 05/05/2005 02:54:51 PM
Last tune written: Original Backup
CALID 'VHAF7J2'

Truck is an early-99 F-350 PSD, automatic tranny, 4wd, all stock.
Build date is 04/98 (but has the 99-03 body style).

The truck CPU was flashed at the dealer a week ago with their latest program.

All electrical accessories were off during the programming attempt.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Flatdeck

Sounds as though he didn't return the truck to stock setting before he sold it. I think your tuner is locked to his truck. The new buyer got the program, and you got the shaft.

In most cases, this would be the issue. But if you noticed, "last tune written" says "original backup". I would be interested in having Flatdeck call me so that we can get figure out exactly what happened here.

Well, a couple minutes on the phone with Vas and he got me going. Just have to wait to get off work and see how it does on the drive home. :D

Thanks, Vas!
