Can us V6 guys get a status update on the new cal id fixes?

Post by brlntblackse »

Just curious if you guys at Diablo can give us an update on the fix for the Cal ID issues on the V6 Chargers. It seems like since you say it is being worked on there should be some kind of news to give.

i.e. we have one written and are testing it or we are still writing or decoding or the dog ate it. There must be some progress since July. I think it would help ease some of the minds of us V6ers to know where in the development stage it is.

It would be easier to push a golf ball thru a garden hose with a blade of grass than to get this answer because I think they don't know the answer. They have been giving us the "were working on it" for so long, they probably have no idea how long it will take....

very very poor support communication!

more than just a refund.the time that we had this thing sitting around should account for something, and the stress and BS we have been getting!

I am going through some major pain and suffering. The stress of wasting $400 has put a strain on my marriage. I've even missed work and lost wages.

Sir, Johan has posted on more than one occasion that these new updates from Dodge are in no way even remotely close to the old calibrations.

This means that we have to all but reengineer this whole tool from scratch in order to add support for these new calibrations.

This is not something that can happen quickly.
Someone has to manually go through every new calibration and figure out what is what, what does what, and then label it all.
Then we need to build new tunes based on these calibrations, then test them on a few cars before they can be released.

Sorry we do not respond to these threads daily, but you'd probably prefer that we are working on these new calibrations rather than posting on the forums....

Thanks
Mike

Not to mention alot of us having been waiting for updates and support a helluva lot longer then you V6 guys. The GM guys as well as us Hemi guys have been waiting for TCM support for a long, long time, but you don't see us bitching about it every day. At least most of us don't.

I wasnt aware you Hemi guys arent able to use your diablo at all . I thought we were the only ones that were having this issue. I thought you were just waiting on features to be added. Did it advertise TCM support when you bought it? Mine sure advertised it would work with my car.

And I know the Hemi truck owners are waiting too but I don't believe they have purchased their programmer yet.

And without answering that "both are equally important" because they are not. One receives higher priority than the other its a fact of life. What is the higher priority issue with the development team right now the hemi truck tuners or updates for existing customers?

Im not saying it doesnt suck for everyone and I know that updates happen and Diablo has to deal with them. What I am saying is that myself and alot of others were never warned that we were buying a piece that would not work when we got it.

And I still didnt get an answer if our warranties and satisfaction guarantees will be extended to offset the time that we have been unable to use these brand new programmers. And no answer as to what stage the updates are at at the present time.

Not trying to be a jerk mikel but I really don't think asking for a real status report and direct answers to our questions is too much to ask for. At this point if I get that it will be the only useable thing I have received for my $375.
