Hemi Ram and Towing

Can any of the programmed tunes in the new U7137 tuner be used for towing on the Hemi Ram? Or would one have to go back to stock on those days? Was thinking they may be leaned out a bit and cause a problem. I generally run 87, just looking for some more MPG and better driveability.

And while we are on towing, is there a way to lock out 4th gear and beyond when going up a very steep hill with the Predator? The Tow Haul button does not do it on the 05's. What happens is that it shifts up into 4th then you have to kick it back down. If you hold it in 2nd, the thing screams. This is a common problem that we have on the earlier models with no fix from Dodge. I believe it was corrected sometime in 06 or beyond for the new trucks though. That would make the Predator even more valuable tool to have.

This is on a 2005 QC Hemi Ram 4X4. The only mod is a MBRP exhaust.

There will be no specific tow tune, you will have a 87,91 and 93 octane tune, either can be used for towing, all will yield better mpg.
You can get the trans tweaked the way you want it with a custom tune.

How about the "Tow Haul"mode button? Will that still be useable or is that a non functioning device now?

Should be useable. All it does it keep the truck from going into 5th. Then if you have the od off function also it keeps the truck from going into 4th and 5th

That would be a nice feature to have and would solve my issue. Unfortunately, that's not available on my truck. The features of the button were changed in 06 or 07 I believe. As is, the tranny shifts into 4th going up a hill under a load. No way to hold 3rd. Holding in 2nd which you can do is too low unless you don't mind crawling up the hill.

So what exactly is changed when using this tuner? Higher line pressures? Are the shifts firmer? Or just the shift points changed? Can these items be adjusted through the Quick Adjust Parameters? When you say tweaked with a custom tune, are you saying they can change the Tow/Haul button function?

Just want to know what I am getting with this programmer. Thanks for the input.

Is there any limit to the towing abilities using any of the tunes? I ask because I just returned a competitors product that had a 1000-1500# max load or haul limit when using their tunes.
