2011 Ram 1500 i3 Diablosport i3

Post by 242HEMI »

Good day,

Writing from the Bahamas. Currently, for the past 2 years I have been VP Racing Fuels authorized dealer among other related brands. I also sponsor the local drag strip. I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with a new Fraiser Long Block Hemi I've only just put 2,500 miles on it.

I have 2 quick questions. I'm seeing mixed info on:

1) Does the Diablo Platinum i3 (no carb restriction model) have the option to stay plugged in and display "gauges" and they go into a sleep mode after the truck is shut off?

2) If I went with a custom tune, like my GTI, I had to do 4th gear pulls which was easy because it was manual. With my truck being automatic, do I switch to tow/haul mode and at then start log once I'm in 4th gear?

Any info would be appreciated. ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ

1. No, ideally you'd want to look at the Trinity 2 product for those features. It has gauges, sleeps on its own, etc.
i3 will display live data but its not meant to be viewed in real time, nor will it go to sleep, etc.

2. Most tuners will suggest to you how they want you to log. It will start with normal driving, then they'll have you do some WOT pulls from certain speeds, etc.

Thank you! Getting there lol

Also, thank you for your replies. Very much appreciated ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ. Is there a thread that has a list of reputable tuners? I used a unitronic programmer in my GTI and Frank Mabo tuned it, but doesn't do anything other than Audi, Porsche, and VW.
