Tranny...

Post by FHRinsp06 »

I have the auto in my 03 cummins and as far as I know it's original at 143K....

Would it be safe to go up to extreme for a lil bit....I haven't done that at all.....Performance is the highest I've gone, and I'm kinda itchin' to try it, but unsure of how the transmission will take it and react to it...

Thanks,
Nate

It should be fine for a while but it WILL create problems later if you abuse it, which is very likely. The whole HP thing in these trucks is very addicting  . Curiosity killed the cat..............

You will deteriorate your trans with the Extreme tune for sure. One thing that helps is to take it easy in 1st and 2nd gear where the converter is not locked, i know thats hard but it does help the life of the trans.
