No "shift firmness" in the U7137
I looked around but couldn't find it, is that going to be in an update or am I just not looking in the right place?

hey silva, hows the programer? can you tell the difference? if you raise the shiftpoints from stock, that may automaticly adjust atf line pressure as so does the flashpaq tuner, they say at a later downloadable update, they will have idle control and possibly be able to adjust shift firmness, but to my understanding, right now you only have preset raised shiftpoints. Then of course, you may have to drive over 400 miles for the adaptave learing mode to settle down and learn the way you drive, after everytime you flash the pcm.
Do you have headers and can you say the the adding more fuel at 0-3700 RPMS add to the low end?

HHP, the program is great, easy to use but it doesn't seem to have all the functions in it that the U7135 does, or I just have not found them. Yeah I can tell a difference, when I got it thursday night it was too late for me to go out testing then friday it was raining but I was able to get it out on the freeway saturday and you could tell a big difference when you mashed on the skinny pedal, it went from 65 to 80 much quicker then it had before, the throttle response was much better too. I did get to do one WOT 1-2 shift and was a little disappointed in that, which is why I was looking for the "shift firmness" setting. Also I couldn't find the PIDs in the predator to do any data logging so I didn't want to play around with any other settings until I could see what was going on and I don't have an A/F gauge so I will probably just leave that alone but wanted to adjust timing a little. My set up is, I have a aFe CAI and Magnaflow true dual exhaust, no headers though.

Hey Silva, that's cool, thanks for your feedback. But I"m curious,a big difference when you mashed on the skinny pedal, it went from 65 to 80 much quicker then it had before,
Do you mean before the truck was stock, or did you have another tuner like flashpaq?
I guess what I'm saying is that I'm trying to see to what degree the "can tune" would be better than another tuner. Now, I'm putting 320 horses to the ground, after wondering for a long time what is really going on, i put in a dyno, and barking firmly when I hit 2nd @WOT 57000 RPMS every time. When I flash the pcm with my current tuner, I always feel like it runs bad, but after I'm out of learing adaptive mode, aprox 400 or so miles later, it's a monster!! After driving it those miles, as soon as I hit 3750 RPMS, the a/f hits 12.8 and stays there abouts, all the way through to 5900, and I generally come off the gas at that point, hitting 4th, my speed is getting up there, trying to avoid tickets, but all is perfect.
Being that the feature to lower my idle is not available now, i guess i'm ok with waiting and monitoring these posts. My 06 at stock with stock thermostat idles at 500 RPMS , very well behaved, but my current tuner puts the idle at 700, and it feels like im fighting the torque converter at stop lights, so that's why I"m interesting in this feature.
Thanks for your response

HH, I did not have a tuner on before so the Predator is the first and only tuner I have owned. I did forget to mention that I have a 180* thermostat in as well, which is another reason why I wanted to check out the data logging so I could get my fan adjust to kick in when I want it to, right now I'm just guessing. I haven't paid any attention to idle, guess I should do that but it didn't seem to have any problems at stop lights.
With your cam you will be able to dyno tune your pickem up truck with the CMR software and get more power out of it.

Oh yea silva, rodger that, but I used a 160 degree therm to trick the pcm into thinking the engine was not at running temp, this action would allow more fuel to be added as the pcm thinks that it will get the engine up to running temp quicker. This would makes a little more power, close loop, but at wot, you would be way rich, robbing power. Adding the air fuel gauge allows this to be seen, now realizing with the stock therm, its running optimally now.
I don't have a cam... yet, I don't really race the truck, only from light to light. lol
I actually work out of it
Hopefully , someone who had another tuner will comment as to how the can tune of this tuner compares with the can tune of competitors. Just curious.
thanks again

hey hemisilva i got my programmer from hhp and i too also seen that there was no shirt firmness. since i am local to hhp i stopped by their shop and talked to josh. he called someone from diablo and according to him the 03-05 trucks have a different hardware program for the trans then the 06-08 trucks. they where not sure which programmers had which hardware so we had to try a few to find one that had the correct hardware from my truck but we never found one(tried 3 different programmers). josh was to make some phone calls on friday and today to find out which programmers had the correct hardware. you may have the some problem as i do.
so far i am very impressed with the programmer. i switched from a jet chip with cai and exhuast i still noticed a difference.

So what's the deal on this? I'm not following how some programmers have different hardware? I've got an 05 so certainly want to get the right Predator that works if there are differences between the units.heat357 wrote:he called someone from diablo and according to him the 03-05 trucks have a different hardware program for the trans then the 06-08 trucks. they where not sure which programmers had which hardware so we had to try a few to find one that had the correct hardware from my truck but we never found one(tried 3 different programmers). josh was to make some phone calls on friday and today to find out which programmers had the correct hardware. you may have the some problem as i do.

The word came back that there isn't a hardware issue as Johan (Diablo's HEMI tuner) previously led me to believe. I'm making my way through the transmission functions in CMR for the 04-06's right now so I expect everyone should have TCM controls on the handhelds available shortly if they don't automatically show up on the Predators right away. Mike, please correct me if I am wrong. Is it safe to say that the 04-06 will not immediately have shift point controls, except for CMR tunes? But they will be available though a handheld (crom) update shortly once all of the continued testing is satisfactory?
Thanks!
