cant get an answer one way or the other.....................

Post by warlok101 »

I guess nobody here knows, 3rd time posting, Im really disappointed with the knowledge base here... I thought this was such a basic question, it would be easily answered.

I might ba asking a question thats answered somewhere on this site... but I cant find it. Ive got a 06 ram diesel stick, with the predator and power puck. I have not been able to figure out what the combo hp ratings are. For instance: Predator 100hp performance / economy stacked tune. What are the new HP settings with the switch in the "60" - "stock" and "90" hp settings? Is it now 160 - 100 - 190 hp ???....The stacked numbers arent explained.... good website info to add to help sell a product package...thanks for clarification, Jay

also...my clutch is starting to slip around 2500 rpm under heavy acceloration in 4-5 gear. Whats a good replacement that wont kill my pocket?

The stack tunes are slightly detuned compared to the non stack tunes.
Ex: The performance tune may be 100 hp by itself, but the perf stacker tune may be closer to 80 hp, but once you add the puck you add about 50 more with the first setting, and about 80-90 more with the high setting.

Honestly, if you really want to know what the numbers are on your truck (as each truck will vary slightly) you should really get it on a dyno.
Most places will give you 3-4 runs for like $75.

These guys show some better info on stacked vs. non-stacked hp/tq.

I've yet to see anybody except these guys explain this clearly and I'm sure somebody has some dyno numbers they could share with us.
Bottom line is 200hp 400tq max gain over the 180hp 280tq non stacked...............I think....maybe......who really knows.....LOL

Not to confuse the issue here but how does the standard puck compare to the Extreme puck when stacked with a Predator?

I don't know that much about them but I don't trust the inertia dynos at all. I've seen numbers from them that were obviously and totally way off. The first dyno mine was on was a big truck dyno. It started with the throttle on the floor and the dyno pulled it down and showed TRUE brake hp - not some erroneous, half-assed calculation. Pulling the load down to a stop is the REAL definition of "brake horsepower". All I use is a stopwatch now to tell which tunes do the best. I thought my Tow Stack and Perf Stack SHOULD be better than regular Perf but they are way slower. My gauge readings alone were proof of that. It was the same story with some of the other stack combos vs. nonstack tunes but I still found a few tunes that ARE what I expected and peg my fun meter! You should at least narrow down the best tunes with a stopwatch before wasting $$$ on a dyno. Craig
