U1764 (2008 6.4) and 9r06 Missing Modifiable Params??

Is anyone else missing params to modify either for Engine or Tran on the 9r06?? I was actually happy enough with 9r04 but was hoping for trans params to modify. I was told to go to 9r05 to get them but I couldn't get past a DSDL app crash on that one each time so I went to 9r06.

But now I don't even have the Engine params like tire size changes that I need. So I am worse off now. The msg I get for Engine or Trans is that there are no params for this Vehicle/Transmission combination (2).

Also, before upgrading, I restored my original backup, then updated the CROM and then expected to be prompted to take a new backup before installing a new tune, but it didn't. Is that expected?

Any insight would be great - thanks!

I checked 9t06a too and it appears the engine/trans settings are locked...capturing the back-up info is virtually transparent since it does it with no prompts prior to writing anything if no back-up exists in the tuner...I am about to write 9r06 to my truck this afternoon.

hey, i think the 6.4 is still being tricky. appears there is testing still to be done. great power even though there are some small issues. i also have the 9r06a program.

you sure you have hte right one because the parameters are setup correctly. Take your truck to stock and then load this.

Hmm, I could do that. But those are the exact steps I have done already. I even drove stock for a day since I was having issues getting the CROM to upload with 9r05. But I went to 9r06 and it updated properly.

That said, when attempting to install a tune, I first went to modify the params and that is when I got the message about wrong combo. I then tried to install the defaults for the tune and got an Out of Memory error. I started over without trying to modify and it installed fine. I checked after to see if I could get params this time and still nothing. And that is where I am. Given that it seems more than just I am missing the params, perhaps there is something else going on??

I 've had those two codes here and they worked. Ummm instead of installing tune you're telling it to modify correct? Then it says no setup for this combo etc etc?

hey, he is right. mine doesn't work either with the 9r06a revision. it worked with the 9r05 but with no cruise.

Yes, I was using the Modify option and no, I was actually using the released version, 9r06. I downloaded it Friday night from that link. Aside from that, wasn't the "a" version the same thing anyway?

OK, this CROM is a bust for me. I don't like the way Extreme shifts now. I tried to go down to Performance. Then it fails at writing the second unit and then has to install the original backup.

Sigh ... I went from having tire size mods and good shifting and no errors at all to none of that and a couple different errors. But hey, traction control is back!

Can I have 9r04 back?

so, the 9r06 is not ready either? i have the 9t06a revision with no parameters loaded but dont want to reprogram if the 9r06 is not right. 9t06a program shifts softer on mine than the 9r05 did with the 80 horse tune. HELP?
