WHAT THE HECK????
I purchased a Predator #U7140 for $369 from Summit racing a couple of weeks ago. Last week I read the instructions about 10 times prior to installing it on my 2005 GT mustang. I installed the 91 octane tune and when it stated to go ahead and unplug the Predator I did. Then my security light on the Mustang was blinking every 2 seconds. I Then tried to start the Mustang. It would crank, meaning the battery was good, but it wouldnt roll and continue to run. I then tried to set the original tune back in. After I completed that The car would still not turn over and run. I then tried to contact the technical side of Diablo Sport and after a LONG wait on the phone listening to Sammy Hagar sing I cant drive 55 about 6 times I hung up and talked to a local mechanic who is a Diablo Sport Technician. The place is Performance Dyno Tuning in Oakdale CA, 209-845-9790. He stated that this has happened in the past and that the cars computer has to be reprogrammed by a Ford dealership. Ok so now I am in the hole for the Predator 369, a tow ride to oakdale for 85, and now 85 an hour to work on my rides problem that should have NEVER happened. If I would have known that it would have been this expensive and this troublesome I would have never bought this product. Especially during a week when I signed up to help deliver turkey dinners to those less fortunate families in my community. I also tried contacting Summit Racing and all they had to say was to contact Diablo Sport. I will try to contact you guys in the technical department tomorrow, 11-25-08, to maybe hopefully resolve this. I have also posted comments/questions on many car/car-club websites in regards to this and the response is pretty shocking. I hope you guys have a solution cause here is the other factor. This technician in Oakdale stated that if it can not be reprogrammed then I am looking at buying another computer for my Mustang. So add 1200 to that increasing lists of costs from this problem. Here is one question I have... if this has been a problem then why hasn't Diablo Sport recognized this problem and fixed their units so we, the customers, dont have to go through these types of expensive problems.
If you guys are true in customer service then I think you know what the right thing is to do here and do it.

I am kind of stuck on it not being here with me right now becuase it wont run and I dont wanna pay for another expensive tow. If you have an over the phone solution then please contact the number I listed for the technician working on the Mustang

UPDATE
Just to give you guys an update on whats going on. First off I couldnt contact you guys today because I was trying to find ways to get these turkey dinners to less fortunate families in my community. But I did get a call from the technicians in Oakdale and its obvious that Diablo Sport did not contact them. They asked if I would permit the car to be towed to the local Ford dealership so it could be re-programmed. A couple of hours later I was contacted by the FORD shop manager there and he stated that the car has been "re-flashed" and that "its not running right, almost like its on 6 cylinders." He also stated that he will try to manual reprogram the car. This due to the fact, from the technicians mouth, that the predator may have fried part of the ECM. I asked that if this does not work then whats the next option. He told me that all thats left after that was to buy a new computer for my mustang. So how is this going to be resolved?

Re: RE: WHAT THE HECK????
This could be resolved if you contact us without involving the two shops above and we probably can have you up and running in 10 minutes for free. I don't know what the shops above might have done but hopefully nothing that could cause you needing a new PCM. Can you call us with the Predator connected to the vehicle and we can walk you through forcing the original tune back into the car? My Tech's are light on calls at the moment so if there is any wait on the phone it should be very little... We do want to get you fixed but you need to call ready to go in the car with Predator in hand.firedogg209 wrote:UPDATE

Kevin,
OK after paying Ford to re-flash my mustangs computer I went back to the performance shop. The technician there tried again to put the predator tune back into the car. GUESS WHAT??? Yeah thats right it did the same thing..... So Robert called you guys a couple of times and you guys walked him through trying to force it back in. Still no go, and still another trip and bill with Ford. It was proven by the Ford tech that day and the performance tech that it was not the car but the problem was with the predator unit. So here I am with 500 dollars less in my checking account during the holidays and a piece of equipment that does not work. So Kevin.... in the previous messages the whole reason why I wanted you to contact the shop is due to the fact that my car was there, not here at my house. Do you know why??? because the predator unit messed up my computer making my car inoperable. I would have called you and worked it through if my vehicle was home and in working condition. Bottom line... this meaning that the car and unit was not at my house but at the mechanics shop that I listed in the previous posts.I must have not put that into detail enough for you and your techs to understand in the previous posts. So if that was the prolem then I apologize for that. What I wanna know is who is responsible for the chrages incurred for this problem from the predator. Is it Diablo Sport or Summit Racing who I bought the product from?? I am emailing Summit about this too. I will send it in when I get an answer from Summit. Thanks for offering to fix it and I hope that works, but to be out more money than the product is worth because of the product is ridiculous and I want more than just a fix to the unit or unit replacement. By the way when Roert called you guys I believe he spoke to a tech name Mike. It was last Monday at about 10 am pacific time.

Dude if you would just settle down and listen to these guys, they are trying to save you some money. All you need to do is call the tech support.. wait a long time yes.. but they do answer when they possibly can. The tuner probably isnt the problem on the car. and if the tech at ford said it fried part of your ECU he is sadly mistaken.. All it does it tell it what to think when the car is started. I see no way in the world it could fry your computer. I have it on about 10 different cars right now and have had no problems at all.
Like i said though.. just listen to these guys.. The phone support suxs balls.. but these mod guys know there stuff. Just try to do what they tell you and all should be good.
Btw... a PM to a mod would have probably been more beneficial... and less rude on the company's part. just imo
